This Sept. we are going back to Disney for our 5th year straight and again taking avantage of the free dining offer. However, this year we would like to decrease our amount of Disney park days and add Sea World to our plans. We will be staying on Disney property and will have our own car to drive to Sea World. This will be our 1st time ever going to Sea World so I have several questions for you guys.

1.. How far is Sea World from Disney?
2.. How many days do we need at Sea World?
3.. What is the most on the to do list for Sea World?

Any more info will be appreciated....TIA

1) If you take I4, Seaworld is about 10 minutes from Disney depending on Traffic.

2) I always say you should do 2 days at Seaworld so you have an extra day to go back and re see anything you really enjoyed or may have missed. If you are visiting Labor day weekend, then You will definately need 2 days at Seaworld to be able to see it all. Labor day weekend is a busier time of year so you will get to see Seaworld's "Summer Nights". Summer Nights at Seaworld includes Nighttime Shamu Shows, Sealion Shows which are different than the day shows. It also includes a Fireworks show at the end of the night and there are various activities scattered around the park, for example, a Live DJ and a dance floor. Any other day in September except Labor day weekend, you will not get these special shows. If you are going any other day in September except Labor day weekend, it is so slow that you could get away with doing one day. But like I said, I always prefer 2 just incase. If you are going Labor day weekend and you decide to go two days, then split the days up. Do a park opening (9:00am) until about 4 or 5pm on the first day to see all the daytime shows and exhibits. And then the 2nd day do something like 3pm-Park close (Probably 10 or 11pm) so that way you can experience all the nighttime shows and attractions.

3) Some "Must Do's" include:

1. Dolphin Feeding.... Do the first feeding of the day (9:30am) It's the least crowded and the best feeding time because it's the dolphins breakfast.
2. Shamu Show "One Ocean" .... If its Labor day weekend, the Shamu Night show is "Shamu Rocks" which in my opinion is better than One Ocean.
3. Dolphin Show "Blue Horizons"
4. Dog and Cat show "Pets Ahoy"
5. Sealion Show "Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island" .... If it's Labor day weekend, the Sealion night show is called "Sealions Tonight". Sealions tonight is a funny spoof on the Seaworld day shows, so if you see this show, make sure you have seen the majority of the Seaworld day shows or this show won't make sense.
6.Turtle Trek .... A brand new Manatee and Turtle exhibit which features a 3D experience. This exhibit Opens this April.
7. Journey to Atlantis .... A water ride like Splash Mountain
8. Kraken .... A floorless Rollercoaster
9. Manta .... A flying coaster which in my opinion is the best coaster in Florida.
10. Sealion Feeding

September crowds shouldn't be too bad at SW so you really should be able to do all you would want to in 1 day.

As far as the must do list posted by KBF, they have really summed up about everything. The only thing I would change on the list is to move the Clyde and Seamore Show up to #1 on the list. This IMO is the best show in Orlando and we make sure to hit it every time we go. The best part is the mimes during the pre-show so make sure you get there at least 20 minutes before the show starts. They are hilarious and it never gets old for my family and I.

Yes, SW allows you to bring in food/drinks in your backpack with no problems at all. Most theme parks will. The only one's we've been to that absolutely not allow it is Cedar Fair Parks and Busch Gardens. But Disney, Seaworld, and Universal have no problem with it whatsoever. We've been doing it for years. One of the things we love about SW is most of what is there are shows and exhibits, which REALLY cuts down on wait times compared to rides. But you're going at an excellent time of year, so crowds should'nt be an issue at all. The 4 rides there are very good. What we do when we get there is get a park map/show schedule and circle the show times in the order we want to see them and use the rides and exhibits as fillers between large gaps between show. This works like a charm in getting to see and do all we want. I'll be at SW/US/IOA 3/12-20 and can't wait. Hope you guys have a wonderful trip. I mean, how can you go wrong with Disney AND Seaworld together? Sounds like Heaven to me!

The only thing that won't be allowed is straws. Straws are banned at the park for animal safety. You won't even find straws in restaurants.

And yes, the 2 for 1 deal is year round.

Does the exhibits cost extra or are they included in the 2 day pass? My kids would love to feed the dolphins and sea lions so would we have to pay extra for each of these?

There is a per person fee to feed the dolphins. There is also a per tray fee to feed the rays, sea lions and sharks.

The exhibits are included in the park admission. Feeding the animals is an extra fee. Not sure how much.

Around $7 per person. But I think it's a great experience and worth every penny.
