Disney Room Card Save the Dates

I read about this idea on someone's PJ ages ago but for the life of me I can't remember whose it was or if they actually ended up doing them! I am interested in possibly making my Save the Dates on blank Disney room cards - is this a feasible plan? I will not be back to Disney again before the wedding (barring some sort of miracle!) so would one of the Disney hotels mail a bunch of them to me? If I'm able to get them, how do I print on them, do I just need to take them somewhere? If anyone has done this I would love some tips/pictures of the finished product! I really like the idea and I know my guests would love it. TIA guys!

Love this idea and I do remember seeing it on these boards a while ago. We just got back yesterday so unfortunately I can't help you get some cards. I guess you could try calling one of the resorts to see if they could send you some cards or maybe a bride going down pretty soon could help you out.

I don't think you could actually "print" on the card but what I would do would be to make clear labels, cut them to size and put them on the cards.

I think this is such a great idea and would have loved to do something like this before our wedding.

Ok, the clear label thing makes sense... thank you! I guess now I just need to brainstorm how to get ahold of these cards! I feel like I remember one bride saying the hotels would not mail them but would give them out in person... so maybe I will need to hope that I can talk a local or vacationing bride into picking some up for me!! I really love this idea so I need to find a way to make it happen.

If you can't get anyone to getthem for you, another suggestion is to do something similar, but buy the printable ID cards from your local office supply store. I found ours at Office Depot and plan to use those as our STDs and turn them into magnets. I tried looking on Office Depot's website where I bought mine from to give you an idea what Im talking about.

Like you, I had the great idea of doing this as well. I called just about every possible person in Disney and NO one would send me them...they said taht it was against policy to do this. I saw them in the same PJ that you saw them in...so to get a straight NO from disney frustrated me. My conclustion was that if you or anyone you know is going to disney soon then ask them to pick them up at Check-in.....my coordinator said that's the only way she can think of to get them. Hope that helps.

I find it sooooo strange that Disney is ok with handing them out in person but doesn't want to mail them - I mean I'm more than willing to pay the shipping! (I just went and read about your experience and it seems like you really wanted to do this as well, so I'm guessing you've already determined that it's not about the shipping... I just can't figure out what it WOULD be about!) I'm not going to Disney before the wedding unfortunately... but hey maybe one of the girls here will take pity and help me out!

I'm kind of surprised Disney gives them out at all. I mean, I know you have great intentions for them, but it seems like there could be some potential situations where someone else who got their hands on something like that could really abuse it -- printing bogus tickets and selling them on ebay, printing bogus room keys and selling or using them for people to use EMH. Not that those would be easy to do but you get my point. Maybe I'm just jaded but I'd bet the bride who made them originally got lucky in finding a CM who gave them to her, I wouldn't think it would be a regular practice.

I do hope I'm wrong and that you are able to get some because it's a really cool idea!

I agree, I am shocked that they actually give them out at all! It is a great idea. Very creative of the bride who thought of it!

I am going down in December, but I am sure that is way too late to pick them up for you. We are getting married in May and I am going to send our STD's out as soon as we get our date confirmed. I hope you find someone to help you out.
