We're back from our first trip to The World! We had our ups and our downs, but in the end we had a fantastic trip. We ate a heck of a whole lot of awesome food. I wish we had taken more pictures of that food, but the pictures I do have will have to do. It's hard to get photos of food when your very hungry boys are reaching their little hands in. Quite a few of my posts will not have photos and I'm sorry about that.

Here is the Cast of Crazy Characters:

CastlePhotoPass.jpg

Mommy- Me, the one who planned the entire vacation. Sadly I had lived 27 and a half years of my life without ever going to WDW.

Daddy- My awesome hubby who had gone to WDW once in high school for a couple days, but only remembered seeing the castle and riding Spaceship Earth. I'm sure didn't eat any Disney food on that trip because his parents probably only packed PB&J's.

Noah- My 4 year old very picky eater. He didn't eat very much food on the trip, but at least he had his fill of chicken nuggets and macaroni & cheese.

Tyler- My 2 year old that also decided not to eat much since big brother didn't want to eat.

Yay! I have ADR's for my upcoming trip at several places you dined at. I can't wait to see what you thought.

I'm going to start with Everything Pop since we stayed at Pop Century for our 10 days and ate there a lot. For the most part, we really enjoyed everything we ate there. They have a ton of options. The first couple times we walked in there I thought my head was going to spin. I was very overwhelmed. It took a few days to get the hang of it.

Chicken Penne Alfredo, Meatball Sub with Salad, and the famous Tie-dyed Cheesecake

This was our very first meal at Disney World. We all were absolutely STARVING hungry by the time we were able to eat this late lunch. We ate a crap breakfast at the airport that morning, so this was exciting for us.

Chicken Penne Alfredo- I seriously LOVED this! I ordered it four times during our stay. The sauce and pasta were ordinary, but that chicken! It was a very large chicken breast, the size of it suprised me. Everyone talks about Disney's portions getting smaller, but this was surely a large portion. The chicken had an amazing crust on it of, I'm guessing, parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.

Meatball Sub with Salad- My DH ordered this. Now, I have to tell you all that trying to get his review on any food is very hard. I just asked him what he thought of it. "It was fine. It wasn't spectacular or anything. It was meatballs with spaghetti sauce... on a bun. The salad was crap and doused with dressing." Well, there you have it! :rotfl:

100_4668.jpg

Tie-dyed Cheesecake- All four of us shared two of these cheesecakes. The boys had a lot of fun with them. They would ask for a color when the wanted another bite. I'm a cheesecake fan, but this was interesting. It surely wasn't bad by any sense of the imagination, but I was just expecting better by the way everyone raves about them. I can't imagine how much food coloring they go through to make these things. The cheesecake was thick and the red velvet cake part was a little dry. Will we get one of these the next time we go back to Pop? Absolutely!

Chocolate Chip Pancakes and Pop Waffles with Topping

The whipped cream melted once we took it outside to eat by the pool. It really does look much better when they put it on. It was in the shape of a Mickey head!

Chocolate Chip Pancakes- Again, I was surprised by the portion of this. This was an adult sized breakfast that we split between the two boys. They didn't finish all of it. It came with four pancakes, one piece of sausage, and 4 strips of bacon. The boys loved these!

Pop Waffles with Topping- My DH ate this and, again, its hard to get any sort of review out of him. "It was a waffle just like I'd get at Bob Evans." He ate it, so it couldn't have been too bad.

Now for things we had, but didn't take photos of:

Key West Omelet- Awesome is all I can say. DH and I both had one twice. It was an omelet that had ham, swiss cheese, fresh spinach, and maybe something else inside and then they topped it with guacamole with potatoes on the side. DH says that he'd eat this omelet for breakfast every single day at Pop and be very happy about it. He also said it was his second favorite breakfast item we had, second to the Ham & Cheese Croissant at Main Street Bakery.

Sausage Croissant- We ate this after we had a ham and cheese croissant from Main Street Bakery. That probably skewed our opinions of this, but we didn't like it at all. The croissant was not very fluffy and dry. The cheese wasn't melted very much and the sausage was just the patty plopped on in the middle. We would definitely not eat this again.

Mickey Waffles- The boys had these once and surprisingly only had a couple bites each. I think they were just too think. I tasted one and it was bland, in my opinion.

Chicken Burrito & Steak (not the real name) Burrito- DH and I had these on our last day. They were absolutely huge. We surely couldn't eat them all. They were served with tortilla chips and cheese on the side. They had many items you could get inside your burrito. They were a great value for the cost and they were yummy.

The boys had pizza a couple times and I thought they were very small and the crust was not very good.

Sadly I only have one {terrible} photo from Chef Mickey's. I still can't believe it, but we forgot our camera in our room when we went to the Magic Kingdom and dinner on our first night. Neither DH or I have cool phones so the one cell phone picture we have is pretty bad. At least we have one though!

This was by far our least favorite table service meal. There were too few options and most of the food was just blah. One thing that specificially stands out was the Mickey shaped ravioli. It was the worst part of the meal for me, DH said they were ok. The service here was not great either. I don't remember his name, but I felt like he was so rushed and didn't pay too much attention to us. When I went back up to get another plate, I came back and my old plate was still on the table. For such an expensive meal this wasn't acceptable. DH says, "They had decent fish."

I also felt like the characters were very rushed at our table. We had other character meals where the characters stuck around longer. Maybe it was because we didn't take any photos with them, except for Minnie.

Would we return here? No. We can pay the same amount for an amazing lunch at Le Cellier as we can for this buffet that doesn't have good food. If we want these characters, we'll go to Tusker House.

You're off to a great start! Thanks for posting your thoughts and pics!

subbing! we are hitting alot of these in Nov so looking forward to the reviews!

I am here!!

I am sorry you had a blah dinner at Chef Mickey's. I agree for the amount of money you pay, the food should be better than blah or ok.....

We only ate at Everything POP once, and that was at breakfast. I cannot really comment on anything else, other than if you are going to breakfast get there early!! I had a panic attack :scared1: about the amount of people in the food court on our AK day. I decided to say to heck with it, and we ate danishes and drank Coke at AK for breakfast....

I saw that you ate at Raglan Road. We went there and had such a great overall experience and our waiter was FANTASTIC!!

Anywho, I am awaiting your dining report.:goodvibes

This was probably the meal I was most excited about before we left. Le Cellier seems to be the place (non-signature) that people rave about the most and I was able to score a lunch ADR at 180 days out! It really did live up to all of my expectations.

Pretzel Bread and... some other bread

DS4 was able to get a cup of the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup as an appetizer with his meal. Thankfully, he didn't like it. DH and I swooped in to save the day and sacrificed ourselves to finish this bowl of deliciousness. Now, I liked it, but didn't love it. I'm typically not a real fan of beer and cheddar soup anyway. Now DH on the other hand couldn't get enough of this soup with the pretzel bread. He stole DS2's last piece of the pretzel bread to wipe the bowl clean. DH orders beer and cheddar soup very often from a local restaurant here that is very good. He said this soup isn't even in the same ballpark as Le Cellier's soup. I knew right from the start that DH was going to truly enjoy this meal. I also really loved the pretzel bread. The chewy outside with the soft center and just the right amount of salt on top. YUM! As for the other bread in the basket... eh.

Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon with Mashed Potatoes

This was my steak. I was as giddy as a schoolgirl when I ordered my steak and was jumping out of my seat when it finally made its way to the table. Holy goodness, that was honestly the best steak I've ever eaten. You could just about cut it with a fork it was so tender. I've heard people complain about Le Cellier being salty and I definitely didn't think so. I very rarely ever use any salt at home since both of my parents have high blood pressure, so I was worried about the salt factor. Really, there was nothing to worry about. Now, if you aren't a fan of mushrooms then this steak isn't for you. As for me, I *pink puffy heart* them. So this was perfect for me. I decided to get mashed potatoes with my steak instead of the risotto and I'm very glad I did. I tried DH's risotto and I just don't like the consistency. The flavor was awesome though. I'm a big lover of mashed potatoes and these Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes were perfection for a potato lover. All around Yum! Yum! YUM!

Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon

This was DH's steak. I honestly giggled throughout the meal as I watched him eat this steak. He was in pure ecstasy with interesting sounds and all. To say the least, he definitely enjoyed it to the fullest. His words, "I don't know if there are words to describe it."

Chocolate Alcoholic Cake with Raspberry Something-or-Other

I looked at three different online menus and can't find this particular cake. We can't remember what its called, sorry. DH ordered this and I'm very sad that I didn't. At least he let me have a bite. It was very good and rich.

I ordered the Maple Creme Brulee and didn't get a picture of it. I had a bite of it before I remembered that I wanted to take a photo. Oops! I was just too excited. I was very full and getting annoyed of my naughty children, so I didn't enjoy this as much as I was hoping to. I only had 4 or 5 bites. I think they torched the top a little bit too much, I could taste a gassy flavor on top. The creamy underneath was very good though.

Atmosphere- As the name states clearly, its supposed to be a cellar. It's dark, but feels very romantic. I wish my DH and I could dine here without our very overwhelmed toddlers on our second day in WDW. Sadly, I feel that their behavior just overshadowed my meal so much. I loved the details in the decorations. The lighting was really cool and I loved the rustic feel.

Service- We had a young gentleman as our server. He was awesome! I wish I could remember his name, but alas... I'm too lazy to dig out our receipts to look. He was very good with my boys, joked around with us, and we never had to ask for a refill on our drinks.

Overall, we cannot wait to go back to Le Cellier! :thumbsup2

:welcome: You are welcome! I'm excited that I finally get to do a dining report since I read SO many of them before we left. I just hope my opinions help.

Can't wait to read more.

:welcome: I'm going to try and get my reviews done as quickly as possible! Have a fantastic time in November!

:welcome: Oh my, I totally know exactly what you are saying about Everything Pop. Maybe I should have talked about that more. It was insanity in there at every "normal" meal time. We were in there a few times where it wasn't as busy, but I felt it was fairly busy every single time we went in there. A few times I felt my anxiety levels rise, especially if my boys weren't in the stroller.

A little bit about Raglan Road before I get there... I sadly didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting to. I'll fully review why later though.

This was the only breakfast table service meal we did, so I can't compare it to anything else. I'm not a big breakfast eater, so again, I don't feel like I can put too much weight on this meal. I'm very glad to see that they are now making lunch a character meal and we will definitely go for lunch the next time we return to WDW.

Food- They had a lot of selections which made it very easy for me to find food that I wanted to eat. I had the Spiced Corned Beef Hash and it took me a few bites to figure it out. It certainly didn't taste like any hash I had ever had before, but it was good. I went up for seconds. I wish I could describe it. I don't know what seasonings they used. It's just something you have to try to see for yourself. I also had the Ham and Cheese Frittata and the Carved Rotisserie Honey-glazed Ham which were both very good. As I said, I'm not much of a breakfast person so this is about all I had. I had some fruit too, it was very fresh and sweet. Yum!

The juice they automatically serve you is awesome. (They also served it at Boma.) We all had two or three glasses of it. I guess it was orange, mango, and some other juices in it. It was really sweet, but so yummy!

100_4871.jpg

DS2 was extremely excited by the fact he got to have a donut at the end of breakfast.

Characters- The character interaction here was great. They gave more attention, I think, than Chef Mickey's. We also didn't feel no where near as rushed. They posed for photos and signed each of their autograph books. The one thing I didn't like was having to wait in a long line outside waiting for our photo with Donald. At least the cast members made it fun for the boys by playing with them.

Atmosphere- It just feels fun inside Tusker House. I like the decor a lot too. My favorite part is how the buffet is set up to look like a market.

Service- Great service! She was very friendly and even asked me about the autograph books I made. She asked me where I bought them from. When I told her that I made them she asked me if she could have my information so I could make some for her grandchildren. Just a super sweet lady that was very good with my boys. My youngest son spilled juice all over the table and she happily helped clean it up.

Would we return? I don't know if we'd return for breakfast now that they are doing a character lunch. This is simply because I'm not a breakfast person so I feel like we don't get our money's worth with me. We will definitely return to try lunch!

Sorry your experience at RR wasn't what you were hoping for, I look forward to reading about it. It was only dbf and I and we were wanting to get our drink on and each had alcohol flights (1 beer and 1 whiskey!!) That might have a put a different spin on it.

We had a Tusker House BF adr, but we cancelled it because we wanted to save money and just eat at Everything POP. In hindsight, I wish we would have kept our Tusker House adr because E.P. was overflowing with people and my panic attack wasn't worth the "savings"!! We ended up having a danish and coke at AK for bf that day.

We had a lunch adr for LC for our January anniversary trip, and I cancelled it. I am regretting it now! :guilty:
Oh well, what can you do..... I am gonna stalk the disney website again.

I'm jumping in, too. :wave2: It looks like you ate at several places that we are considering for our next trip, so I am really looking forward to the rest of your reviews! :goodvibes

Count me in!! I totally agree with your reviews about Chef Mickeys we were there in July and it was totally not worth the money..Cant wait to hear more..
