Can anyone tell me what is a good way to start this program, and how many points you get for each purchse?

Thanks

You get one point per 100 dollars. They are currently offering double points if you buy from the Disney online site $75.00 or more. I just got my rewards card in the mail with 125 dollars on it to spend at Disney in December! I signed up with Visa because they sent me something in the mail. You can also go online and apply.

There was an offer for $50 reward dollars when you apply for the credit card, but I can't see that right now. If you go to www.disneyshopping.com, down on the lower left column, there's a place to click to get $25 when you apply. HTH!

Thank for the info. I was also wandering do they give you a list of how many disney dollars you have to get for certain things?

A disney dollar is just like a US dollar, except it can only be spent in WDW, at the World of Disney, etc. With the rewards Visa, you get one point per 100 dollars spent on the card, and one point is equal to one dollar on the reward card. After the points accumulate, you cash them in for a reward card, it looks like a Visa card, but it onlt has the amount of money on it that you have available in points. For some this is a good card, for others it isn't. I personally do not have one, nor will I ever as I don't have a job and they won't qualify me for one on my pension. The real benefit for me would be the year free of interenst if I could charge a cruise.

After you accumulate your points on your Disney Visa you can then request a Rewards Card and transfer your points over to the card. As noted by others, each point is equal to one US dollar. The points accumulate for something like five years in your account before they start expiring. Once you transfer them to your Rewards card you must use them before the card expires.....the Rewards card has an expiration date on it that has nothing to do with the expiration date on your Visa card.
I made a transfer shortly before our trip in June. I was really impressed on how easy the Rewards card was to use at WDW. I was especially happy to use up all the money on the card. I have since started over accumulating points on the credit card for a future trip.

At www.disneyworld50certificate.com you can get a $50 Walt Disney World Gift Certificate.

I saw the offer in the 2006 Birnbaum Guide. If it asks for a code it is 69y501.

I applied through this site. The gift certificate is supposed to come 4 to 6 weeks after you make your first purchase on the card.
