Which restaurants can we use our Disnay Rewards card at? Is it only TS or also CS? Can they be used only at resort restaurants or also in all the parks? How about DTD or the Boradwalk restaurants? T.I.A!!

You can use your Disney Visa Rewards card just about everyplace in WDW. We used it at restaurants and at the Spoodles take out window. You probably could not use it in the Swan or Dolphin since they are not Disney owned propreties. Same goes for DTD. If the restaurant is an outside chain they likely will not take the card. It's safe to say you can use the Rewards card at maybe 95%......probably more.....of the restaurants within WDW.

If there is someplace that doesn't take it, you could always have it charged to your room card and then pay it off with your rewards card. Will everyplace take your room card, like DTD?

Ok, so I am confused...I just got the Disney Chase Visa Card...so I need a DIFFERENT card to use at Disney to get the Rewards?

Kim

Yes, there's 2 cards. You use your disney visa card, charge up a bunch of stuff and get rewards points. When you are ready to use the points then you have to have them transfered to a Rewards Card, which is sent to you by Chase. You use the rewards card to pay for stuff with the points you've accrued, much like a gift card. You save the rewards card and can transfer additional points to it when you have more accrued.

Ok, but will I get discounts at Disney World by using the DISNEY VISA? Just want to make sure that I have it all staright before we go! THANKS for the help!

I know you can get discounts on some tours when you pay with your Disney Visa, like I think the Backstage Safari is one of them but not sure about any others . . . might want to check other threads too. Its all a little confusing to me and the brochure that Chase sends does not give a list of things that you get discounts on or where Rewards Card can be used; it's all sort of vague.

This past weekend, the only place we went that didn't accept the rewards card was Raglan Road (non-Disney-owned restaurant).

I guess I am confused...and I have called Chase and they seem to not know...I am sure it is because they have SO many different cards.

I read somewhere before I applied that you got a 10% discount for World of Disney in Downtown Disney.

Would be nice to save some on meals...though I already paid $102 for our CRT breakfast.

Anyone who has clarification I would REALLY appreciate it! Heck if I can save 10% I will spend MORE!

I have a related question--if you use the card at a restaurant, do they put an additional hold on it for gratuities, or do they just charge the actual amount with no hold? In other words, can you walk out of a restaurant knowing exactly how much is left on the card? Is it easier to just tip in cash?

I can't find anything in writing, but I believe you can get a 10% discount on purchases above $50, but you have to ask for it. Anyone else know for sure?

The Chase Disney Visa is a regular credit card, and you get Reward dollars when you use it. Check your statement when it arrives and somewhere after your purchases are listed, it will show your rewards. If you are going to Disney, use it for everything you possibly can; airline tickets, gasoline, groceries. The Reward dollars add up, but slowly. We even put our DVC purchase on it. Some things you buy will give you an extra percentage, but I'm not sure how that works.

Then, a few weeks before you go, call the toll-free number and have them issue a "Disney Rewards " card. That will be what you use at DisneyWorld. You can use it at restaurants, gift shops, your resort, DTD. The first time, we had over $200 we used for souveniers like good sweatshirts that we would have never purchased for cash, and things we wanted but felt guilty buying. I bought a Winnie the Pooh watch. Once you get the card, you can also transfer credit while at Disney, too.

This trip, we had $191 to spend at Ghirardelli, World of Disney, and the resort gift shop for some breakfast items.

Just remember to not wait until the last minute to redeem the money because they send you a new card and it takes about 10 days. Also, make sure you don't let any expire, there is an expiration date on the rewards. There are people here who think it's a rip-off, we like ours.

You do get a discount at World of Disney but it is for over $50. There is also a great Meet & Greet at EPCOT. It's free and each family gets admitted to a private room to spend a few minutes w/ a couple of characters (we had Minnie and Goofy). They will take lots of pictures (give them your photopass) and they will also take some with your camera. You can then go that same day to the PhotoPass stoer (near Spaceship Earth) and choose 1 few family photo. You can get 1 per day-if you want. It's only from 1:30-4:30 and I can get to the place but can't remember what it is called! Check on the boards for Visa Meet & Greet-I know it has been mentioned tons of times!

Ok, good to know. I am sure I will have a few sales over $50 to get the discount.

Thanks for the info on the Meet N Greet...you can go do it once a day? And you mentioned a PhotoPass, how do you get that?

Thanks, Kim
