Can the reward points be redeemed to cover gratuity for DDP meals?

I don't know much about the DDP, but we were told that we could pay for our room balance with the Visa rewards (which is what we did). This was on a follow-up call to the original reservation when we were told that we could *not* pay for our room with the Visa Reward card.

So, there can be some confusion about this and you may want to ask more than once if told "no". Seems to me that there shouldn't be a problem since Disney generally seems to be fairly adept at handling split payments.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the issue here is if the tip can be paid with the rewards card when using the DDP.

I know you can combine a rewards card and a standard credit card at, say, a gift shop, but I don't know about the DDP.
