Disney Reward transfer

So I have it down with the whole get points from Visa, order the card when they show up after posting. Visa sends reward card.

I know getting the reward card can take up to 4-6 weeks after ordering.

But, what if you already have a reward card? I received my reward card with my points, but now DH is going on a business trip we'll be reimbursed for. Naturally we want to use our Disney Visa to get these points. My question is this: will they just electronically assign new earned dollar points to the reward card in my possession, or send me another card?

Also, if they do add it electronically to my current card, about how long does that take after bring requested (since they don't have to mail anything, I would hope it would go faster).

I did this recently. They transfered the reward dollars to the card I had from our trip in February. It was instant if I remember correctly.

I used reward dollars to buy a Disney train for under the Christmas tree.

The new points ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFERRED to your existing rewards card.

Your new points will stay in your Disney VISA account until you transfer them to the rewards card yourself. You can add the new points to your existing card by calling or by requesting it online.

When you visit the Disney VISA website and choose "Manage Rewards", you can click on "View Rewards Balance" to open a new window. Click on the top drop-down window next to your points balance and choose "Transfer Rewards Dollars". You can then choose to transfer any amount of points over 10, to any existing card. You can actually have more than one rewards card active because some people actually use them as gifts for others.

also important is to pay attention to the expiration date on your card. if your reward car will be expiring before you plan to use the $$, don't put the $$ on it yet. or else, maybe you casn request a new card with a different expiration date.

We have 2 accounts and used both to get rewards cards for our trip last November, these cards expire 12/31/05. You are allowed to have 2 active rewards cards at any time, so I ordered new cards for this November. The new cards have an expiration of 12/31/06, so if something happens and we can't go, I still have another year to use the card.

It shouldnt take 4-6 weeks to get your reward card. I just ordered mine earlier this week and it said it would be up to 10 days. It better not be 4-6 weeks. We will be gone to Disney !!!!

You can transfer your points online or over the phone. I've done it both ways. I don't know that it's "instant", but it happens fairly quickly. It could be instant, but I've never tried to use my rewards card immediately after transfering.

My suggestion, call to have them transfered and while you're on the phone, ask them how soon you can use them.
