I am visiting WDW with some of the worlds most picky eaters. They make me look adventurous which I am not really!!!

If we go to some of the nice restaurants, for example Le Cellier will they cook plain versions of their dishes or would that be frowned upon?

Otherwise I think we will end up cooking at the villa and dropping in at KFC which wasn't really my idea of holiday dining!

Thanks

But of course.

I find that the sit-down restaurants are MUCH more accomodating then the counterservice places.

Example - we were at Tusker House one day and I was getting that roasted chicken meal (or something) that came with a side of mashed potatoes w/ gravy. I asked them to leave the gravy off...don't like it - never have, never will.

"Oh no - we can't do that."

Same thing in 'Mexico'...couldn't leave the tomatoes off.

They have an assembly line going back there and god forbid you ask to change something.

(BTW - worst meal of my life EVER at Mexico...I think I actually cried during it...)

My kids are pretty picky also, but we never have a problem at WDW. You mentioned Le Cellier - we ate there for the first time last week. My son wanted the pasta with butter instead of tomato sauce or cheese. They were happy to accomodate him - they even checked to see if there was enough butter on the pasta (there was!). I was able to get sandwiches plain anywhere we went. He tried a plain grilled chicken sandwich and didn't like it (it was marinated in a honey-mustard sauce). The server gladly replaced it with something else and didn't charge us for it (we told her we thought we should pay for it since we ordered it and she insisted that we shouldn't because he didn't eat it!!). At the parks, you can order a hamburger roll with only cheese (almost like a grilled cheese sandwich) - this was a lifesaver before DS started eating more variety.

My nephew is a very picky eater too. We all went to Coral Reef one night and they didn't have chicken fingers which is pretty much the only thing he likes. They actually went out and got him some. The chef even came out to make sure they were okay for him. Every seat down meal we have been too has always accomdated our requests. Another example is my mom who doesn't like spices on her food. She always tells the waiter/waitesse and it is always done. Just ask.

Thanks guys,

I am now reassured that we will be able to sample some of the lovely eateries at WDW without having to traipse round looking for plain food!
