Disney resorts rated #1 in customer satisfaction!

A few years ago, my then 6 year old niece saw a picture of the giant play-doh can on the WDW website.

SHE THOUGHT IT WAS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!

Guess where she stayed a few years later.

Although there are some wealthy young people, and some poor old people, generally people become more affluent as they get older. Parents with young children usually live on limited budgets.

In creating the value resorts, WDW knew they were catering to the other 10 demographic. Food courts, bright colored icons, and even memorabilia from their parents youth appeal to young children, and in turn appeal to their parents. (Don't get me started about parents completely catering to kids wants over their own needs.)

I agree that artistically the value resorts are just awful, but from a marketing research standpoint, they are just brilliant. The value resorts--so ugly, only a M.B.A. would love them.

BTW, the plans for the Boardwalk were unbelievably fantastic! I wish Disney would follow through on some of that. It sounds fun!
