We will be staying at a Disney Resort (hotel) next week Friday. The check-out time if 11 AM. What is the likelihood we can extend the check-out beyond 11 AM?

Whether or not we can extend the check-out, can we use the pool beyond check-out time?

Yes, once you check out you may use your resort pool for the rest of the day. We always do this. We stay until about 3 or so, then start our 5 hour drive home.

They're generally not rabid about you leaving AT 11. Your keys even still work. I doubt they'd let you stay in the room much past noon, but I've never pushed it very far and our room gets steam cleaned and totally tossed after we leave (service animal) so we don't want to hang around for too long.

Normally they'll only kick you out if they have no other rooms to turn over, unless you get a real stickler housekeeper. If they knock and you're still there, they will generally go to the next room.

In June of 2008 we stayed at WL. We asked for a late check out, and they told us no problem! We ended up with a checkout time of 1pm. It was nice to not have to rush out like so many other people were having to do. I figure it doesn't hurt to ask! ;) I plan on asking for the same in Feb of this year. However, at BCV I think it is less likely to get such a favorable qanswer!

At Disney Vacation Club resorts, unless there are some extraordinary circumstance, late check-outs are generally not offered due to the amount of time it takes to service each room.

At all other Disney resorts, it depends on how high occupancy is and if another guest is assigned to the room immediately following your departure. If either are true, the chances for a late check-out go down; but something may be offered anyway (such as a 12:00 late check-out). Late check-outs, based upon availability, are free until 1 PM, then half the room rate until 3 PM. After that point, one full night is charged.

Access to resort facilities (such as the pool or gym) are still enabled and most welcome through midnight the day of departure.

We've had late check outs until 1pm. We call 1st thing in am and ask for an extension. There's never been a problem. As for the pools and other amenities, you're free to use use them the entire day of check out!

Are there facilities at each of the resorts where you can shower and change out of your wet swimsuit after you've checked out of your room?

Your keys even still work.

1) That is not how the key system at WDW works.
2) If the next guest checks in, their keys will work for your room.
3) If they activate the door, your keys are no longer valid.
4) If you want to check out later, you need to call and inquire.
5) DVC rooms (OKW-SSR-VWL-BCV-AKV-BWV) do not allow late check-outs.
6) Other resort late checkouts are permitted by Housekeeping, not the Front Desk.
7) It depends upon
. . . number of check-ins and check-outs that day
. . . occupancy of the resort the night before
. . . how nice you talk to Housekeeping
. . . staffing and/or absenteeism of maids
. . . phase of the moon
8) If allowed,
. . . check-out 11:00am-1:00pm, no charge
. . . check-out 1:00pm-3:00pm, up to 50% of the room rate
. . . check-out 3:00pm or later, up to 100% of room rate
9) Housekeeping decides if you will be charged or not be charged a fee.
10) This is done by the Housekeeping Manager after the room is cleaned.
11) You will know if there is a charge when you see the credit card statement.
12) You can store your luggage with Bell Services.
13) When ready to leave, use the pool restroom or spa to shower & change.
