Our first of many visits to Walt Disney world was in 1973 the only resorts were Contempory, Polynesian and Fort Wilderness.Campgrounds. We were trying to figure out which resort was next, and in what order were they built.
Im sure some of you disney experts would know this answer.
Thanks in advance

Might have been the 'Golf Resort' that was near the MK. I could be wrong, but this resort may have been re-named the 'Disney Inn', that is now the present day Shades of Green resort.

OK, here goes:

-Contemporary 71
-Poly 71
-Ft Wilderness 71
-Disney Village Resort 72, which became Disney Institute Villas, which then became Saratoga Springs and the Treehouse Villas
-The Golf Resort 73, which became Disney Inn, which then became Shades of Green
-Disney Inn 86 which became Shades of Green
-Grand Floridian 88
-Caribbean Beach 88
-Yacht & Beach Club 90
-Swan 90
-Dolphin 90
-Port Orleans French Quarter (originally just called Port Orleans) 91
-Old Key West (the first DVC resort) 91
-Port Orleans Riverside (originally called Dixie Landings) 92
-All Star Sports 94
-Wilderness Lodge 94
-Shades of Green 94
-All Star Music 95
-Disney Institute Villas 95, which became Saratoga Springs and the Treehouse Villas
-Boardwalk Inn & Villas 96
-Coronado Springs 97
-All Star Movies 99
-Villas @ Wilderness Lodge 00
-Animal Kingdom Lodge 01
-Beach Club Villas 02
-Pop Century (the Classic Years half- the Legendary Years never came to be and eventually became the Art of Animation Resort) 03
-Saratoga Springs 04
-Animal Kingdom Villas 07
-Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary 09
-Treehouse Villas (newly refurbished) 09
-Art of Animation 12

Currently under construction:
-Villas at Grand Floridian

There were only a few resorts for the first 15 years or so, then construction really took off, The 90's saw a huge number of resorts added, and the new century has added a few new resorts, and many DVC villa add-ons to existing resorts.

this may seem like a weird question, but do they ever do anything to celebrate an anniversary of a resort? Like CBR looks like it hits 25 years this year. Would there be anything for it?
