If you add on a one night stay at a Disney resort onto your DCL reservation, it will be the same price as if you booked it stand alone? Would it be eligible for any discounts?

My experience is with Aulani but for there it depended on if Disney Cruise Line was offering a discount for the stay. For one of the cruises that went to/from Hawaii DCL offered a substantial discount to book a few nights at Aulani through them. For another cruise they didn't.

My experience with booking non-Disney hotels through the cruise line (such as in Vancouver) is that I can almost always get a better price by shopping a sale through the hotel itself.

Same price (and discounts) for WDW resorts. Nothing special offered (except the ability to pay for DCL transportation to port)

Hmmmm. I would assume the price would be the same as a stand alone booking, but it could possibly be cheaper? Ill look into it more. Thanks.

I believe that Disney Cruise Line sent our emails to people booked on the cruise that they would apply the Aulani discount for ahead of time letting them know about the deal. You can always call the DCL line and ask the price for a pre-stay at the hotel you are considering and compare it to the online price if you booked alone.

I haven't booked the room through DCL. I book the room on my own which allows me to use/change to any available discount easily. You can still book DCL transportation.

Our experience has been better to book outside of DCL. You can get the resort only discounts as well when they come out. At least in the past the DCL price was closer to rack rate.

Just be aware that if you book WDW room/tickets through DCL, it's a pain in the butt to link to MDE. The 2 systems really don't talk to each other.

We did a one night stay at SSR using the DCL discount, but ordinarily we book through WDW.

I had to send a message to get the reservation number in order to link the stay to my MDE.
