Disney Removing Do Not Disturb Signs

And then I stopped listening. Where did it say "naked daughters" ? Stop it. In the bath, from a first time poster, posting today about a new policy.

I refuse to believe a cast member from Disney walked into a room and stared at two daughters under the age of 4, naked.
She's referring to the woman who posted about the man barging in while she was bathing her 2 young daughters...:guilty:

I realized that after I posted, thanks.

I will be completely honest - that post is from a first time poster, ever, on the first day this policy has been bouncing around these boards. I can't say for certain I think it's one hundred percent accurate.

I guess I have more faith that most Disney employees....men...aren't interested in looking at naked children. I'm the female in my avatar, if that makes a difference.

posted this in answer to another thread, but posting here too because I was an active participant:

Actually no. I won't stand for people being prematurely accused of such disgusting things. It's ridiculous, inflammatory, and it's going way too far at this point. Staring at naked young children, imitating cast members with fake uniforms, walking in on women in the shower. I'm sorry, it's how I feel and it's sad I'm alone in this.

Across multiple threads, my outlook is sad. I'm done with this.

Really? Poisoning your dog? You think that is what they are going to go around and do?
I'm not a dog owner and likely wouldn't bring my dog to Disney if I were. That said, no, I would not worry about someone intentionally poisoning my dog. However, I would worry about a housekeeper or maintenance or security patrol person who wasn't comfortable around dogs, especially one that is excited by someone entering the room (barking, jumping, etc) doing something to "protect" themself that could actually harm my dog.

what if couples are having adult relations & someone barges in their room? I just don't know what to say...
This actually happened to my husband and I once. Housekeeping knocked quickly and before I could say anything, barged in on us. The maid looked mortified, yet unsurprisingly we had no more issues with them the rest of our trip.

A women was raped earlier this year in a local hotel in our town by someone who followed her to her room, knocked on the door saying he was hotel staff. We never ever open our hotel door for strangers.

Are you kidding me? Stop allowing this fear mongering ( I realize that sounds dramatic, but seriously) !

Is this for real?

I am so beyond not ok with this. We decline mousekeeping every trip. I just don’t like someone in my room when I’m not there. I keep my own room clean. Now they are telling me that it’s required someone go in my room every day? Sorry, but that’s the last straw in pushing me offsite.

Don't see why off site would makes a difference. If disney is doing it for security reasons, how long before the rest do it, or possibly already are.

We've never had the type of experience offsite that WDW guests here are reporting. I'd be interested to know if people are having this same experience at offsite hotels though - I'd avoid staying at them.

I thought there was some paranoia and fear mongering on the threads about the new dog policy....but this thread is crazy. Some salient points for sure, but some other fantastical assumptions as well.

Thank you! I thought I was alone in this thought...

I am extreamly concerned about a non Disney employee using this to unlawfully enter your room. Will cast members be required to show some kind of ID before entering?

They should have their Disney ID on them at all times, so I do not feel it is unreasonable to ask them to show it via the viewer in the door before opening the door. At any other hotel, I call to confirm that the hotel has sent someone unexpected to my room, but at Disney all you get is the call center, so calls don't work there. Of course, there are going to be some exceptions - for example, you can generally tell by looking through the door if housekeeping has their cart with them so I would be less likely to request an ID in that case. My sister is a manager at a hotel, and they call the room when they are sending someone unexpected, whether a delivery (like flowers) or maintenance or basically anyone other than housekeeping. Such a simple thing to do, but it means a lot to the guests.

Does Disney allow housekeeping to enter a room while a guest is present? Most hotels have a policy against that for the safety of the housekeeper.

Am I correct that for those of us who never opt out of Housekeeping, the daily Housekeeping visit will serve as our "Security Check" or will there be our Housekeeping visit PLUS a separate "Security Check"?

If Housekeeping does do the Security Check,we will be some of the "lucky ones" who this Policy will have no efffect on,because we are always in the Parks during "Housekeeping hours" and our "Security Check" by Housekeeping will take place while we are in the Parks.
