"We are also Disney Owners and I called Member Services yesterday to learn about trade opportunities in Europe. I was advised that Disney has changed the rules as well as the resorts that they will allow us to trade into. The Member Services rep said that Disney is mailing out in about 3 weeks, new guidelines for travel. They are REMOVING the bulk of the resorts in Europe since they are almost impossible to get. The answer was that there is no reason to annoy the members with requesting trades that never come through.
I was told that Il Pelagone in Tuscany, and the Lido in Venice are still on the list. Most of the resorts on the list of available places to trade are in Southern Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, Tenarife."

Hope this isn't the case. We were hoping to try to go to Europe in summer 2005. On the other hand, if you can never get these properties through II, I give them credit for trying to more fairly advertise or promote the World Passport Collection.

I just got off the phone with my Guide, Julie Hughes. She checked with MS while we were on the phone - and they denied the rumor that all the European exhanges were being eliminated. There were a few eliminated and a few added - with a net change of 7 additional resort exchanges added. So, I guess this was just a vicious rumor. Sorry if I got anyone worried (although I know most of you don't trade out anyway)

I haven't talked to DVC lately about exchanges, I try not to bother them too much about it. I do know that they update the list periodically based on new resorts coming out. In general, European resorts are not up to the standards of DVC and are included to round out the options available. BVTC has an agreement with a company (forget the name) to provide additional options, many of which can be scheduled for other than a full week. Some are also available through II.
