Im sure Im not the only one… Once you start getting to the lower numbers of your countdown, and you’re in the thick of planning FP+’s and ADRs… you’ve been reading and studying all the latest gossip and trends via the Forums and websites – And suddenly you’re dreaming about Disney!
Last night, I dreamt that I was in the MK with my aging mother (in her 70’s) and we happened past a suited character that no one paying any attention to – The dream had created this character (ie, she wasn’t from “real life”) but in the dream I recognised her immediately as a “rare” character that never normally comes out for meet and greets – She was a large duck character (think Jemima Puddleduck by Beatrix Potter) and she was sorting flowers by a flower cart… Knowing she was a rare opportunity (and equally surprised no one was mobbing her) I pushed my mother over to her for some photographs, and mum spent a good 10 mins with this character, sorting flowers and talking about the different types of flora – I was going photograph crazy, getting all emotionally caught up in the “Disney magic” and the long character experience my mother was getting compared to the short and quick “meet’n’greets” of characters people spend hours waiting in line for… my mother was loving it, and it felt wonderful watching her interact with this gorgeous character no one was paying any attention to…
…Afterwards, we walked past Buzz Lightyear and I lined up for a photograph – While standing next to me, the cast member in the suit started talking to me (as himself, not as Buzz): “Stand like this… Do this pose… Stand back to back with me!” - And I was like, dude, are you supposed to be talking to me? You’re Buzz Lightyear! Stop it!” and his minder heard me and quickly broke off the interaction, taking him away and chiding him for “breaking the rules”… Mum and I looked across to the duck character we were previously with, and she was shaking her head in disapproval towards the cast member in Buzz…
I woke up soon afterwards!
So Im curious – What are your Disney-related dreams? Share them here!
((Another common one I’ve had in the past is the good old “anxiety related” dream… where we’re in our hotel room trying to get ready for our first day in the parks, and nothing is going smoothly… You lose your tickets, but then find them, but then lose your shoes, but then find them, but then can’t unlock your door, but then unlock it, but then can’t find your bag… and so on… and so on… all the while listening to the laughter and music coming from MK over the wall…))
