I thought someone on this board might know where I could find these. Back when I was a kid, Disney released soundtracks of movies like Peter Pan, Bambi, and Winnie the Pooh on long playing records. I had them all as a kid and listened to them until the grooves wore off.
I was wondering if any of you had ever heard of them or where I could get them now.

Yes I have. In fact, I still have all of mine. These were usually given to me by Santa.

I have seen some at Half Price Bookstores. Also check resale shops in your area. I have stumbled across 1 or 2 but they aren't in the best of shape though.

I took out "The Rescuers" LP/storybook to play for my kids a couple of years ago. My DD's (4yo at the time) sat in front of the TV waiting for the picture. I told them that we had to look at the book. They listened for 10 mins but kept telling me "It's broken".

Maybe I'll try again. They are 11yo now. I think they'll get it now.

Good luck finding them.

Are you seeking the original albums, or the material on them? If it's the audio, Disney re-released many of their animated classic soundtracks on cd some years ago. I'm not sure if they are still in print, but you could probably track them down. If you are looking for the actual albums, I'd check yard sales, DAV, Ebay, etc. BTW there would be Storyteller type albums, and then actual movie soundtrack albums.:earsboy:

I still have all mine from when I was a kid.
You play them on a record player and follow the story along in your book.
I listened to them all the time when I was young.
I haven't really seen them anywhere and have no idea what they are worth.

I have quite a few of them which I re-purchased because my originals disappeared one of the times we moved.

These are easy to find at church thrift stores and yard sales, but they're not always in great condition. Some of them I purchased on ebay.

My favorite Disney records are the picture discs that they used to sell in the Emporium on Main Street. I have A Musical Souvenir of WDW's Magic Kingdom, A Musical Souvenir of America on Parade, It's A Small World, WDW's Electrical Water Pageant, Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade, Peter Pan, Snow White and Mickey Mouse Disco. I've been tempted to frame them, but I like to listen to them.

Of the story and sound records, my favorites are The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Pete's Dragon. The Mansion and Pirates records are kind of expensive, but if you keep searching on ebay you can occasionally find a decent one for a good price. Do a general search rather than one on the Disneyana site. That's how I got mine for a decent price.

My DD used to listen to Pete's Dragon and read along when she was about 6 years old. She thought it was a lot of fun because none of her friends had one!

I'd love to have them on CD. I had the scripts to those movies practically memorized from listening to those things as a kid.

I have a bunch of these from when I was a kid too. I'll have to dig out my turntable one of these days so my kids can enjoy them too.

I agree with what others have said, you just need to keep hunting. Most everyone with a record collection has or will be getting rid of it one of these days since very few of us still use turntables! They type of garage sale you want to find is a moving sale of a couple in their 60's - getting rid of their kids stuff to downsize to a smaller home.

You can find lots of these records for a good price, by going to ebay :) Check out this link to give you some ideas of Disney Records on ebay :goodvibes

What I did was I searched under music and I typed " Disney Records " in the search bar. Now there are other ways to search. You can type " Bambi " in the search bar to find some Bambi Records and Cds and so on :goodvibes
