Disney rechargable cards?

A friend just returned from Disney and said she placed her kids spending money on a rechargable gift type card. Can anyone give me info on these?? We leave tomorrow! Where in WDW can I get these? Can they be used at DTD shops? And at the end of the trip can they be cashed in if they have andy balance left?

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World Resort is introducing a Shopping & Dining Gift Card that allows guests to conveniently treat gift-recipients to Disney dining and shopping experiences.

The cards can be purchased with $5 to $1,500 of value -- for use at select Walt Disney World merchandise and food and beverage locations. The cards are available at select merchandise and food and beverage locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort beginning Aug 1.
