Hi ya'll - going to Disney the Monday after Thanksgiving for 7 days - I'm looking for something different to do - can anyone give me any info on Disney Quest and if you have been there did you like it or not? Is it worth the time and money or not? Thank you :earsgirl: :sunny:

My whole family loved it. It has virtual reality games (must try the pirates of the caribbean), all the way down to the old orginal pac man and space invadors. You can design your own roller coaster and then ride it in a simulator, or take animation classes from a Disney animator. There is something there for every age group IMHO. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much - we are trying to find something different to do - I think we will give it a try - thanks again.

My DH and I went (no kids, we are 44 and 54 years old) to DQ and loved loved loved the Pirate ride. We played it repeatedly. Also, the rafting one (forgot the name) and the make your own roller coaster. Very fun. Didn't like the alladin ride (virtual helmet hurt my head to much to concentrate and enjoy the ride. Lots of cool art stuff to do, food (cheesecake factory), bumper car thing that shoots. We added something to our tickets that let us in this for free but I can't remember what it was. It was something that let us do all parks, water parks, DQ, etc and park hopping. We def felt it was worth the money and visited DQ 2 different days. :3dglasses

Our family (husband and two daughers-16 and 13) loves Disney Quest, we went there twice this past trip. The pirate ride is the best, we were so proud when we beat the pirate and our ship didn't sink. Also love building our own roller coaster and the buzz lightyear bumper cars. The human pinball machine game is a good workout!

Our family really enjoyed DQ for the first time on our last visit. I was a little concerned that our kids (DD5, DS4 at the time) wouldn't be able to do everything due to height restrictions, but there was still a lot of attractions they could do. Check the height restrictions if you have little ones ahead of time and be forewarned that some of the virtual reality rides can cause motion sickness if anyone in your group has problems with that. Also, be sure to plan your trip so you get there on the early side (as near opening as possible) and avoid DQ on rainy days and/or Friday/Saturday evenings.

Not worth it for my little one but the older ones did like it a lot. You can get discounted tix in advance that helps with the price. My DS5 and DN8 loved the make your own CD also. If you do not get tix in advance but have an AP, you can get a discount at the door.

I LOVE DISNEY QUEST! If you like games, you'll have a blast!
You can read more about DisneyQuest in Timon's 1999 & 2000 trip report on her website:
www.cassworld.ca

It's a "Disney Sized" arcade. DS loves it. It's a very nice escape from the heat/rain/humidity. Typically not busy at all in the morning and dinner hours. Local school calendars can make a big difference.

They also have food service from Cheesecake Factory. The "hot food" grill on the 5th level doesn't have the regular menu, but relatively speaking, it's good food for the money.

On the 4th? floor you can find your $4 and $5 cheesecakes  Something for everyone. :teeth:

Obviously, this will differ with each perspective, but how long would it take two adults to go through DQ?

My DH (29) DB (13) & dad (46) were @ DQ for almost 6 1/2 hours when we were there in October.

When we go again in Feb 06- we will be on the plus package & will take DD (2) according to DH they have things for her to do too. (Could be just saying this to get us in the door with him, but willing to sacrifice for the Cheesecake Factory)

It takes about 3-4 hours to do everything once - although that largely depends on the crowd. Most people spend about a day, to at least a half a day inside Disney Quest. Generally coming in, leaving for food, shopping, then returning to hit up their favorites, ect.

I'd plan a min. of 3-4 hours, but be flexible to spend more inside if you really love it, and/or depending on the crowd.

My DH and 2 DS's (13 & 14) love Disney Quest! Me personally, not a big fan but I bring a book and find a comfy spot to relax!

This is a great idea. We got tickets because the kids wanted to go so badly. I was wondering what the heck I was going to do since I really wasn't into the game thing.

OP: I have a friend that goes to Disney every year with her family and Disney Quest is the first thing they do. She said for them, arriving and hitting DTD and Disney Quest is a tradition! So it seems like a great place to go!

Well in my opinion disney Quest stunk. It seemed the CM's were all quite young with no supervisors so instead of doing there job they were all trying to hook up with the patrons :confused3 Some of the ride/games were confusing to me so I tried to ask the CM but she just came over and slammed the helmet on my head and I had no idea what to do or what the heck the object of the stupid game even was :earseek: So my husband and I basically thougt it was stupid and if the admission hadn't come with our tickets we would have been very unhappy :guilty:

Sorry you had such a bad experiene. Fortunately it always been the opposite to us. They always explained the games to us, so much that eventually we told them we had played before and knew what to do.

I just returned from WDW, and we (no kids) went to DisneyQuest and had a blast. Yes, there were some games that we didn't play or didn't enjoy after we had played them (the Aladdin game - the virtual helmet was heavy and I wasn't sure what the point of the game was) but others were fantastic (Pirates of the Carribean, Buzz Lightyear Bumper Cars, the variety of old arcade games, Mighty Ducks Pinball, Star Wars games, etc.) We are in our 20s, we love video games and just had a ball. We bought separate tickets to go (discounted head of time - I would recommend it) and I was totally pleased. I would certainly do it again.

I think 3-4 hours is fair for two adults, with little traffic. We were there on a weekday afternoon/early evening and really didn't wait for anything.

Hi, figment7413. Could you tell me how you bought the advance-purchase tickets...did you call Disney and order, or do it online? (When I go online, it tells me to buy them at the entrance... no discount for advance purchase)

This sounds like sooo much fun.

No, we didn't get them from WDW - a Google search located a website that sells discounted tickets. I was a little wary - we checked out the site and their security certificate and it was all fine. We bought the tickets and saved quite a bit - and enjoyed the experience just as much.
