Been a long-time fan of DisneyQuest, and a once-upon-a-time annual passholder of JUST DisneyQuest (love it that much)...
DQ is a one-price ticket fro admission. There are some separate cost options inside, like "Create-A-Song" where you can make a record your own song and buy the CD, or a version of "Animation Academy" where there are pins available for purchase. The pay-for-it arcade style tickets for prizes style of games are now just a play for free and not get prizes section. Do you want to buy a video of the roller-coaster that you just built and rode? Gotta pay for the video...
When DQ opened, it was more of a "charge up a game card, play a few games, and recharge it again" process, but that didn't last long.
DQ is a great location and it appears Disney is putting a little money back into it, but some of the original games and experiences are becoming quite dated. Pirates of the Caribbean is still a great game, and so is Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters (Not to be confused with DLR's version like Space Ranger Spin at WDW), and Might Ducks PinBall Slam are still a Blast to play. Alladin's Magic Carpet Ride, Ride the Comix, and most other unmentioned originals were nearly out-of-date when DQ opened 10 years ago.
Still a great time, especially if you have a hankering for Spy Hunter, Tron, DigDug, Burger Time, Moon Patrol, QBert, Pengo, and on and on...
You can spend a whole day there, but watch out for rainy days... it will get PACKED quickly.
Enjoy and don't forget to bring a watch... you can lose track of time in there!!
