We are considering going to Disney QUest for the first time. I'm concerned about whether there will be enough for my 8 year old to enjoy. She is not the best at video games.

Can someone give me a rundown on the activities they have there?

I am the mom of a video game obsessed 11 year old boy. I HAYE video games...my child gets frustrated because he wants me to play with him & I won't (I don't even want to hear about them!).

That being said, I LOVE DQ! THere will be plenty of things for your DD to do. THere is a whole imagination floor that she will love. I can't tell you much about it, because we have not spent time in this section, but I am sure that someone else will let you know some details. THere are plenty of family things to do like virtual reality Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Carribbean (My FAVORITE!).The Buzz "ride" is fun too. THere was a thread recently about DQ where peopple had some really great descriptions of all the things to do at DQ...it would be worth searching for it and reading it...

Go and have fun! It is a must do on our trips! (for me & DS)

We went to DQ in 2002 - DD was 9, DS was 6. We were there from 11am till closing time! We all had a fab time. DD was not really into video games but we did all the rides that cajunfan has mentioned and there were also some other virtual reality things we did...the was one where you have a helmet on and fight with lasers...very funny to watch! There was also the Aladdin ride where you sit on a bike and have a helmet on for a virtual ride.

Disney character drawing lesson with a CM.... really good.

I think there was also a giant pinball game.

Lots and lots of old video arcade style games ie pacman....kids didn't think much to these but DH & I were taken back to our childhood :)

I'm sure there will be lots of folk along with much better descriptions...I say go and have a fun time there :)

This is so good to hear! We are going to DQ for the first time this Sept and I was apprehensive. I am the same kind of mom. The ONLY video game I play is Disney's Magical Racing Game. (you race through your choice of WDW rides while themed music plays- I love Splash Mt.- "Zippity Do Da.........") I'm going to look for that thread. Thanks.

We have the Disney racing game, too. DS (5) just found it (we bought it year ago) and has been playing like crazy for about 2 days. I never thought I'd say it, but Im' getting tired of some of the Disney music, but at least I know all the words to Yo, ho, yo, ho and Grim Grinning Ghosts.

Anyway, we went to DQ in June and I am not a video game person. But, we had a great time. At 5, he was able to ride the Jungle Cruise and Aladding. We also played several of the driving games. It was kind of late, so we left after that. He can't wait to go back with his father in December, who is much more into video games.

DS was 8 for our last trip and DH took he and our 13 year old for an afternoon and they all loved it! The 8 year old still talks about the Pirates of the Caribbean! It is a must do for the kids for our next trip. :cool1:

if your tickets are not included with your package, make sure to get them at ticketmania before you go. A huge! savings :flower:

If you are buying new park tickets, you can get it built into your pass. If you want to, you can pay cash at the door, or finally, you can buy them in advance from ticket mania. I think the door price is about $35. and ticketmania is $21. :flower: Hope this helps!
