We are planning to spend some time at Disney Quest. I'm not familiar with it at all. My DH and DD both get motion sickness. What things could they do? What should not be missed?

Thanks so much. I don't want to get in there and us all just get frustrated.

I would check out the DQ info on allearsnet.com and also this site. Both have a lot of info on it. I also get motion sickness and just stay away from the few games that might cause it. The last time we went, my DS and his friend stayed in DQ for 6-hours. Depending on your DD's age, you might want to look into it more before you go. Someone wrote a week ago about being quite upset over height requirements in DQ and not being able to do a lot of the games.

I live in Chicago and they had a Disney Quest here for a couple years so I went there quite frequently. I haven't been to the one in Florida, but the one here was basically just a huge arcade. There were like 5 virtual reality rides, but only the virtual reality Space Mountain thing where you create your own roller coaster would be bad for motion sickness, the rest were more for little kids. Although I can't say what is at the one in Florida to know. But if you like video games, it's a great place to go. They have basically every arcade game invented, or at least it seems that way :).

I saw that thread! Two DDs, 9 and 6. We probably wouldn't go but our tickets include it so I thought we might as well check it out. I thought we might go on Christmas. But everyone else might have that same idea. I'll check out the sites you recommended. Thanks!

Oooh make sure you do Pirates of the Caribbean, that's so cool, and do Space Mountain, just be careful, or take a Dramamine....and there are tons of internet computers you can send funny e cards at, and don't forget to check out Pac Man and the cool video arcade games...and of course, Cheesecake Factory! YUM!

I took my kids to DQ last time--got carsick on the very first video game I tried. :guilty: Too bad for me. I ended up sitting in a restaurant the rest of the time. :drinking1 The kids were in 5 stories of heaven. Except after they did a virtual reality "ride"--my 18yo almost barfed and had to be helped off. :crazy2: But there were other things to do, like learning to draw Goofy, making crazy pictures, air hockey, pinball(my specialty!), so we had a nice time. Would I do it again? If they forced me. I hate video games. But it was fun and they had a good time.

You can buy an all day pass which makes all the games free, or you can buy a card with credits on it and use those up on the games (like Dave and Busters). Personally I always go with the all-day pass cus the games cost so many credits that it's easy to run out fast.

Does the $34 admission price get you the all day pass? I was assuming if we tried it there would be no additional game charges.

If you get motion sick...STAY AWAY from the Aladens carpets....OMG..I have never been so sick in my life!

The Pirates of the Caribbean is the absolute best thing about the place..it is so cool! I worried it would make me sick and it did not.

I am not a lover of video games, but had a blast in DisneyQuest....there are lots of things that I did and had a great time. When my family was on things that I did not care to do, I had a great time watching everyone else.

I'm not a huge video game person, but I love DQ. I have terrible motion sickness problems, and the only ride I've tried that gave me trouble was the Jungle Cruise - you sit in an air raft and paddle through an environment on screen. Almost didn't make it through that one. I did not try the magic carpets (DH tested it and said I would not do well) or create your own coaster. There is an Alien ride that is a VR thing that I had no trouble in, but you aren't actually moving, so if you get disoriented you just have to close your eyes. I also did fine on the thing where you put on a helmet and hold a sword-like thing in your hand.

We've only known the entry to be pay one price and it includes your games... The card with credits was to play games in one area where you earn tickets for prizes. That may have changed, but I'm not sure.
