I am planning on going to Disney Quest as the first thing to do after we check in. Never been there but thought it looked fun on the video. I will have an 18 year old boy, 17 year old daughter and an 11 year old daughter with me. Do you think they will find this boring or fun? After Disney Quest we plan to go to Crystal Palace and eat and then do some rides in MK.

There is a lot to do at DQ.
I would think they would like it. Everyone there seems to really enjoy themselves from toddlers on.
My only thought is how long you plan to stay at DQ and what time.
Depending on your timing it could be boring just because of the lines can be long.
The hot things seem to be the design/ride your own rollercoaster and the PotC.
We like to drive in the Nascar races too. I'm lousy, but have a great time. ;)

Do you have hoppers that include Disney Quest? If so, then go. You're kids will have a great time. They will probably want to go back again.

I wouldn't spend the $$ on tickets for a couple hours if you don't have passes. You need to spend many hours there to get your $$'s worth. DH and I are in our mid 30's and we spend half a day there.

My DS 11 yr. loves to go to DQ! He never wants to leave and we usually let him stay 3-4 hours! If he could stay there all the time if I would be willing too. I think your kids will like it as well.:earsgirl:

Last time we went with DS7 & DD10 we stayed for 9 hours and only left because we had a fireworks cruise booked. I wouldn't spend the money for a short period of time unless you have passes that include it.

Lots and lots of fun!

DD loved the Dance, dance revolution game and spent most of her day there. DH, DS and I wandered continuously and did a little of everything.

One hint: Have everybody wear a watch and establish a meeting time/place. It was hard to round up DD when we were trying to leave.

Our plane lands at 12:10 so figure we should be at Pop by 1.00 .As soon as checked in was going to hop over to Disney Quest and stay until around 6:30 . Supper at palace should be around 7:00 if I can get priority seating or 7:30. Will this work? Will it allow us enough time at Dq.

We went to DQ last week. My DS thought it was great, he is 9. My feeling was it was a waste of time. I'm not a video game freak, so it wasn't my thing. We did the raft ride, virtual sword fight and pinball game. The best part was playing the older video games like asteroids and pac man. My DW and I can't wait until the kids are old enough to drop off at DQ and we can go to the House of Blues.

dmure -- Just don't overbook your time and stress out when it doesn't work.
Whenever we flew into MCO, we were always right on target with getting in the room approx 1.5 hours after landing. And that was with a towncar.
I would say you might be done checking in at 1:30.
Ae you driving? If not, it will take longer to reach DTD by WDW bus.
I would say you will be doing good to be at DQ at 2:00.
And if taking WDW bus service, again allow LOTS of time to get where you need after DQ. Possibly 1.5 hours.
I don't think the buses go to the west side -- and haven't in years. But I could be wrong on that.
If time is a factor, even a taxi may be better for you if you are not driving.
Again, your timing will depend on if you are driving.
Also, is DQ allowed with a feature? Or are you having to pay for that half day?
Depending on how late you stay up, DQ offers a late evening entry at a discounted price. I never paid much attention, but I THINK it was $16 pp from 9 p.m. on.

If you enjoy video games, DQ is absolutely fabulous. My boys could have stayed there and ignored MK! They are obsessed with video games. There are many different types of games to play. I had fun getting to play some of the old games I loved, like centipede. My sons were glued to the Star Wars games. Being a computer geek, I was really interested in some of the VR games. It is amazing what they can do! It was also nice not being bugged for quarters every 3 minutes!

We are also planning on going to DQ the day we arrive. We get in about the same time as you. However, we don't have an offsite ressie. We plan on heading over to a DTD restaurant to eat, then off to DQ until bedtime. If we need a break, we'll do some shopping. My guys could easily stay there all day, but I think 4 or 5 hours is as much as they need. Is it cost effective? Maybe not. (Though as fast as my guys can lose games.... maybe so lol) Either way, that's not what it is about. It's just plain fun. (If you like video games.)

I have more disneyquest questions. I have 3 daughters (6,8 and 10) and husband, they all love games like chuck e cheese stuff. Can you come and go from disney quest or once you leave you're done? My Mom is going with us and I'm wondering if she and I should shop while they do disneyquest? I think they would love it, I think I would go crazy, but I don't want to be a party pooper :)

You can get your hand stamped and come back. Me and my daughters did this and left the boys to play because there is never enough time for them in DQ. We were there four times on our last trip and they still could have went more. My daughters discovered the drawing classes and they was it they wanted to stay too. Gina

Do the games cost extra $$, or does the admission give you free access to the games.

Well this just sounds like a MUST for my family! Since I know I can get my hand stamped and excape for a while, we're going!

Gaiusrex,

Yes and no. ;) The vast majority of the games there do not cost anything extra to play. However, there are some games that you can win tickets from, to redeem for prizes. Those cost money. None of the games we wanted to play were for tickets.

We never play the games that cost money. There aren't to many and the kids like the video games more. The art class only costs money if you want to purchase your drawing after. I think it was $4.00 but you can do a drawing class a mgm and take home your picture for free.

And I'm 50!!! We like to spend an afternoon here, while everyone else is at the pool or parks! You have to like games to really appreciate this place. I bought our passes at www.ticketmania.com for $21,I'm not sure what the price is at the door. Have fun!!!!!

I mis-spelled escape earlier...I hate when I do that! Looks like regular priced tickets at door are $32/adult and $26/child...maybe I better buy mine from ticketmania!

I've been looking for the operating hours for DQ and can't seem to find them. Our trip is April 19-24 and we're planning on spending our last morning at DQ before we fly home on Saturday. Does anyone have the hours or know where I can find that info?

Thanks

It took me a while to find it too. The answer is:

It opens every day at 11:30 am.
On Sunday thru Thursday it closes at 11:00 pm.
On Friday and Saturday it closes at midnight.
