What is the word on DQuest closing after Dec. 31, 2006. I heard they aren't satisfied with the revenue flow and it will close. Any comments...

So Sabrina :stir: , if you heard then someone told you. :stir: Please post your sources. :stir:

JimHillMedia.com has an article that Disney Quest is closing early 2008 to be replaced by a new ESPN zone (the one at the boardwalk will then close).

Sorry to offend with not using references. Friends who also visit several times per year as Vac. Club Mem. were there in Nov. for food and wine. They were buying tickets at EPCOT back gate for next visit, the cast member would not sell tickets with DQ attached as they were informed DQ would be closing soon. Good enough...Just hoping others would have heard more.

I read on the rumours board that the closure is over a year away!

It was reported somewhere besides JHM but I can't remember where I read it. When speaking with a DQ staff member they said that rumor has been around for years. I don't see it closing at the end of 2006 though as Disney's Jan - Mar promo includes free hopper, water park & DQ passes

where/when do you find this promo to purchase?

We're going next summer and I hope they give plenty of notice, because I'm planning to buy tickets soon and with 2 teenage and 1 almost-teenage boys, this would be one of the main reasons we'd buy the waterpark & more option. Will there be a substitute or will you get some sort of refund if you buy tickets in advance and then then take it off, or should I hold off on buying tickets (or will they probably not reduce them or anything even if it does close)? Thanks!

You can hold off on buying water park fun until after you get to Disney where you can add water park fun at a Guest Relations window or booth.

It is possible that ESPN Zone may have some of the Disney Quest attractiions in it. It is possible that ESPN Zone may require consumption of a water park admission to get in. We don't know that for sure.

Putting out a rumor may inspire guests to think, "Oh my God, Disney Quest is closing so let's go see it now" and then the cash flow is improved and the expected closing date is pushed further into the future.

You may not take things off of a ticket and get a refund. If an unused ticket is traded in towards a different ticket, no change is returned.

Disney hints:

(After some use of a Magic Your Way ticket the cost of adding water park fun will be no more than what is posted above a ticket booth, namely about $55. including tax. Before use of the ticket you are doing a trade in and the starting trade in value which is a secret number may require that more money be added.)

I have an AP for BB/TL/DQ that runs until June so I doubt they would sell those if it were going to close before then. If there is a date, its more like 12/31/2007 or beyond.
