What can you tell me about Disney Quest? What is it like? How much does it cost? how long would you plan to spend there? Our children loving gaming, so I think this would probably appeal to them.

Also, I see they have an Animation Academy there. Is that free, or is there a cost? How busy is it? Is it basically the same idea as the one that used to be at HS? Is it worth it? Both of my children love to draw, my son especially.

DisneyQuest is one of those places that we would visit more often if the tickets were cheaper.
If it doesn't come included with your pass/ticket, it's $39 for kids 3-9, adults is $45
They have a ton of older arcade games, like Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Space Invaders, Tron, Spy Hunter, Centipede, Asteroids, Q-bert and Mario Bros. It’s a blast from the past!
More interactive games are:
Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold
Immerse yourself in a surround-screen world where blade meets blade, booming with swashbuckling action. Up to 5 players at a time can each choose their position on deck: steer your pirate's ship, fire cannons at sea-faring threats and more! (Height requirement: 35")

Virtual Jungle Cruise
Grab a real paddle, hop on a raft and plunge down a prehistoric river in this 4D adventure. Avoid dangerous obstacles and catch helpful gizmos in the running rapids of this dinosaur world. You might even get splashed!

CyberSpace Mountain
Design your own roller coaster on a computer, with special assistance from Bill Nye the Science Guy. Make it as scary as you want. When you're done, jump in a simulator and ride your creation in full 360° motion—if you dare! (Height requirement: 51")

Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters
Pilot your own futuristic bumper car in a battle against other drivers! With up to one other player, you can scoop up "asteroids," load them into your blaster and fire away at the other cars. A hit sends them spinning in space! (Height requirement: 51")

Animation Academy
Be a Disney animator! An instructor leads you through the process of drawing a Disney character, step by step. You'll be delighted when you see what you’re capable of creating!

Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam
Become a human pinball as you bounce off of other balls and walls in this life-sized Mighty Ducks game. (Guests under 48" tall should see a Navigator for assistance.)

Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride
Fly through the alleys and streets of Agrabah on a hunt to find the magic lamp and save the Genie!
My DD16 loves old arcade games and on Black Friday they open DQ early for people to play for free, we spent 2.5 hours just doing the arcade games.
I would love it if they updated the interactive areas but if tour kids love gaming this is a fun place, great to go on a rainy or super hot day
As for the Animation Academy it on a virtual board so not like the one at DHS where they had pencils and paper
here's a good video (although the guy is a bit annoying) my favorite cyber game is the pinball slam.
Plus DQ is the only place to play Fix it Felix Jr from Wreck it Ralph

I believe they have the drawing classes like the ones at the original Animation Academy at HS at AoA now, and they should still be free.

The Animation Academy at DQ is free to participate in, however it is done on a digital screen and if you want a printed copy of your drawing there is a charge. You are under no obligation to purchase it though.

The same is true for the toy making activity and the music video booths. You can play with the stations all you want, but you have to purchase the final product if you want it.

Was just there for the first time a few weeks ago. Basically it's a giant 80's style arcade with some decent VR games. The games themselves range from mostly older to a few newer ones. Some were in good shape, others were not. (EG Gorf played well but Phoenix had no response to the buttons at all) There was a giant row of pinball tables but the one I played hadn't been maintained at all and, while it worked, the flippers could barely move the ball. Overall though I greatly enjoyed the experience and could easily spend about 4 hours there. All games are free play and admission covers their cost.

We went for the first time two years ago. I agree that some of the games are not maintained well but we still had a blast. We spent about 4 hours there. It was included in the package I booked that year. We would love to go back during our upcoming trip, but it isn't in the package this time and we are still trying to decide if it's really worth the price of admission.

That is awesome news that AoA still has these classes. My family loves to do this. We were very saddened to learn that you couldn't do them any longer. This will make their day! We leave in 11 days!!!!

Has anyone been to Dave & Busters? If so, would you consider Disney Quest to be worthwhile to go to in comparison?

DH and I are big gamers so it appeals to our interests - just not sure about the outdated aspect.

DisneyQuest has games that get you inside the game, not just regular arcade games. So I would say it's better than D&B. Just the ability to build and ride your own roller coaster is cool. I believe D&B has more of the current games, while DQ has both current (although not as many as D&B) and a lot of classic ones

Okay, thanks! I'm leaning towards going but just needed a push. We have one day coming up at WDW where it's a travel day that we'll have about a half day to do something (sans park tickets). Was considering a universal trip but I think we don't have enough time plus the cost is high for just 1-day tickets. Am thinking Disney quest is a better option :)

Is it possible to buy Disney quest tickets ahead of time? (Without the bundled park ticket)

Can't find anywhere to buy it a la carte.

I think it can still be used as part of the Water Parks & More ticket option. So if you have that as part of your package you should be good.

I remember reading that people have been able to use it with WP&M, but I can't find a recent conversation about it. I found this from May 2016 - https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney...art-water-parks-option-miniature-golf-312333/

I hope this helps!

Yes, I believe you are correct, but we only booked park hopper this time, not the WP&M. Thank you though.
