Hi everyone!
My family has been to Disney for the past three years and we have been lucky enough to have a favorable or tolerable exchange rate. We were basically at Par last year. Wondering if Disney has ever run some sort of portion for us up North when the dollar has taken a beating the way it has. It has significantly increased the cost of a vacation package.

In the late 90's or early 2000 they used to have at par rates for rooms and park tickets, sure hope it will come back !!!

Last year in august i got a pin code for free dining. I hope to get some sort of deal to help with the costs again. Because of the discount we upgraded to boardwalk, i would like to upgrade to the poly this time!

The free dining promotion opened up for Canadians the last two weeks of August last year. It wasn't offered to the U.S. until the very end of August. I'm thinking it will be offered early again this year as an incentive to travel because of the dollar.

I am really really hoping for this!!!

Way back in 2003 we got an at par deal for POR room only. I believe the exchange then was about $1.38 CDN = $1.00 US. My gut tells me that if the exchange rates hold steady or climbs then there will be better CDN specific deals to be had. But with Disney one never knows for sure until they roll them out.

Did the offer come out in August or was it valid for August? I was hoping to go at the end of August but with the dollar the way it is we are considering our other options. In the past the end of August discount didn't come out until May. I would like to have my trip planned sooner rather than later. We are considering non Disney vacations if something doesn't change.

Yes, sorry, my post did sound confusing.

The Canadian offer came out around the same time as the American offer for Freedining - sometime in May.

Yes it came out last year in May. I would love to see an at Par deal! I have my timeshare searching for a trade into DVC to reduce the costs

I'm really hoping they put some extra deals on if the dollar stays how it is. I currently have a cruise booked but am also on matleave. I just can't stomach the ext $1000 it will cost us just for the cruise right now, especially with me not working!

Booked my May trip this weekend and specifically asked the CM if they had any (unpublished) package offers for Canadian residents that'd help soften the blow of our sinking dollar. Alas, so such luck. :(

I am so hoping this happens again this year :wizard: if not, at least something good enough to offset the $1000's of dollars difference from our exchange rate :crazy2:

I'd like love to see at par rates as well, that include discounts released. So if discount releases is 30% off, we could get it at par. Or give Canadians an extra discount % that would equate to dollar at par.

We usually go 2x a year, we have our Aug trip booked, but not sure about January. Will have to see what's offered. May well skip January trip.

Would love an incentive discount!!! We are definitely going in Dec 2015. I'd consider offsite :guilty: But really don't want to!! Come on awesome Canadian discounts!!

I called becaus i got an email about a free parkhopper and the cm told me disney was being stingey with discounts this year.

I have a feeling that there won't be much freebies or incentives this year because of the 60th Anniversary event. Hopefully I'm wrong... :smickey:
