Disney Princess Brides - No Coach?

ShannaLAX

I would like to say a warm welcome too! This site has been a great help to me and wouldnt want you put off. Since im in Scotland its difficult to get a good idea of things over there.

Have fun with all your planning, its great!

Try not to take it to heart hun. I could Just as easily have joined today I lurked for ages until I posted then I haven't posted in nearly 2 years. I have noticed a trend on here of accusing people of being trolls when they disagree with them.

If you would like a carriage have one it is your special day and if some gernalist or whoeversays other wise stuff them and anyone else who thinks they are entitled to an opinion.

Thanks TinkyBell & Kirsty! I was afraid that all the nice people were gone. Glad to see that I'm wrong!

That article made me feel bad about my impending choices and I wondered if it was accurate as how everyone feels about carriages.

Phew, glad carriage-gate is over!

The same thing happened to me when I joined here - had a wee opinion on something and was firmly brought back to earth, so you are in good company!

Lets get back to the exciting stuff - cant wait to hear your plans hun.

I hope my answer wasn't too disappointing. :sad2: I just think that a carriage is over the top no matter where you are. But if you like it then you should just do it. :thumbsup2

I got the website wrong. So sorry. I corrected it in my OP. It is NOT spam. Thanks for making me feel so welcome here.

Don't get so defensive. Thanks for correcting the site, but I went to the first site you posted and it was in fact a makeup site. Not a problem now that you've been posting, but if you have been lurking here for as long as you say you have, you would know that we get a TON of spammers.

Anyway....I am having Cindy's carriage, so I DEFINITELY say, go for it! If it's what you want, then do it! How often do you get to do that anyway?

Hmm not sure why you are getting so defensive and calling us mean. Look at it from our perspective - your first post was to post an article that bashes brides who use carriages and try to be princesses. You have to admit it could look a little fishy to us, and I can tell you from a recently closed thread that we do not take kindly to people who seem to come in guns-a-blazing and ready to attack and insult us.

That being said, it appears that you are not a troll just trying to get a rise out of us. If you have your heart set on the carriage - don't let this article dissuade you. Who made the author the authority on weddings? My only quip with the carriage is the price! But if you can afford it, I think it's lovely.

Welcome to the boards and I hope you'll post in some other threads so we can get to know about you and your plans.

Wow -- I didn't realize that I couldn't lurk without signing up. As I said previously, I didn't sign up because I wasn't engaged though I knew I wanted a Disney wedding. And, second, I didn't sign up earlier because I wasn't planning a Disney trip.

So sorry ... I thought people here were kind and considerate based on what I read in the past. I guess all the meanies are out today?

Oh, I lurked for over a year here before I finally made an account! :rotfl: I totally understand!

Welcome to the Dis!

I think people accused you of trolling b/c the next post was "Oh, that's silly, people don't do that..." when the truth is, Cinderella's Coach is VERY popular for people who have Disney Weddings. Being from the US, I didn't understand the whole "gypsy wedding" scenerio until it was explained to me.

At Disney World, no one will think it is weird for you to have Cinderella's Coach for your wedding..... it's such a fairytale setting, the carriage is very appropriate! Don't let that article keep you from booking Cindy's Coach if it is what you and your future husband want for your special day.

I hope that doesn't mean that I'm being accused now, lol! I have the benefit of having a good post count I guess, but that doesn't mean that I knew that having a bride riding around in a carriage is popular. I know almost nothing about Disney weddings I guess, except that I've seen brides and grooms with the little veil ears on and stuff. But I don't think that my opinion should be discounted because of that.... Not sure if that's what you meant or not and I'm not offended, just pointing out that she asked for opinions and mine was valid, although I see it's not the answer she might have wanted. :confused3

OP, I sincerely apologize for taking your post the wrong way ... as others have said, there have been a number of "trolling" threads here lately that have gotten our collective guard up and always with brand new posters. I will say, though, that if you had included more information in your post rather than just posting and highlighting the negative, I would've gotten a completely different read on the post.

No need to get defensive, and I promise I'm not "mean" or "grumpy" ... it's just frustrating to read posts that seem derisive/divisive with an "explanation" that doesn't come 'til much later and after hurt feelings.

Again, my sincere apologies if you honestly wanted opinions on your personal choice. :flower3:

No, I'm not accusing you. You didn't know that Cinderella's Coach was popular. But next time, you might do a little research before posting. :goodvibes

Why? Research or no research if that's her opinion it's hers to have. We don't live in a world where everyone has to agree, and are not allowed to express their opinion.

I've seen a lot of daggers and snobbery in here recently, not very welcoming to newcomers or even those who 'lurk' and chime in when they feel appropriate.

It was not an "opinion" - she said....

Oh come on! I doubt anyone is really going to try to arrive in a carriage, lol! That's crazy!

It's WDW... people arrive to their weddings in carriages. It is a fact.

I suppose you could argue that there are educated opinions, and there are uneducated opinions. :confused3

Really? Don't get defensive when you call me names and say I'm one thing when I'm not? Obviously you've never made a mistake in your life? I make one mistake and you're all over my butt? It was an honest mistake because I didn't have enough posts to put the direct link in my thread and then made the mistake of not putting THE infront of GLOSS. So sue me. Mistakes happen.

I know you get spammers here. I'm not stupid. Like I said, it was a mistake and someone was even kind enough to provide the correct link to the story. So you could've edited your post and left the name calling out.

If that was your idea of an apology, it was a poor one.

I never wanted the carriage, that was so "not me"........ until I read the TR of a bride who had it! Her happiness and excitement just seemed to radiate through her story and pictures. Now if we have wiggle room in the budget, I'm definitely getting the carriage. :lovestruc

Seriously i am not going to play tit-for-tat. I too could go back through the thread and highlight the posters opinion, but I won't.

Thanks for proving my point :confused3

Until I started lurking here, I had no idea that brides could use Cinderella's coach! I figured that was just used in the parades. I honestly had no idea that you could actually rent it IRLfor and ride in it!

Thanks! I guess I was talking about my actual opinion that I stated after that. I'm sure everyone can find it, lol, so I won't post it AGAIN but I did say I was surprised and stood corrected that it is indeed done there. I never would have guessed it. I guess I should have looked it up but it was (to ME) like someone posting 'do you think it would be silly for the bride to walk down the aisle on her hands?' and then calling it an uneducated opinion if I said 'no, that's crazy' and THEN came to find out that people do it all the time..but really, no biggie, I'm not offended :goodvibes

I know some of the theme park threads get heated but I didn't think that the wedding ones would too! Color me surprised again. :rotfl: I'm going to go look at cakes or something..

:rotfl2: WOW! I wasn't getting defensive, and neither was I apologizing for YOUR mistake, simply pointing out why I thought you were a spammer. And I did not call you stupid. AND I was NOT "all over your butt". For pete's sake, you act like I cursed at you, saying I called you names! Just....wow.
