Hi everyone. This is my mom's name but I am a teenager trying to plan about how much money I will need for souvenirs for my friends and in the books that we have, they list the stores but not the average prices. So I was wondering if anyone can give me prices for cheap but fun souvenirs that my teen friends might enjoy. Thanks!

I have bought these little magnets with characters on them that were $1.50 each. I've bought pen sets that were about $10 (6 in the set). There are also little post it pads you can get that run about $3.50. There are various candy items you can get that, if you split it between your friends, might be economical. Keychains can be as cheap as $3.50. Pins are plentiful and the cheapest of them is $6.50.

How many friends are you wanting to get a souvenir for and what is your total budget? That information may help others come up with really cool ideas.

I've bought the pen sets and split them up between my friends and family for souveniers. I usually look for something that I can split up and give as little individual gifts.

Thank you both for the advice. I have probably 20 friends including cousins, but not other family. I do work and am trying to save at least 250 dollars. That is my goal anyway. The idea of splitting things up is very helpful. I want to get as much as I can out of my money and yet get worthwhile merchandise.

I used to get my close friends Mickey ears with their names embroidered on them! :) I don't remember how much they are, but they're pretty economical and the embroidery is free. And it's fun to watch.

The Mickey ears are $6 to $7. To really save money on souveniers, go to the Disney Store BEFORE your trip when they are having a clearance sale. I have gotten t-shirts for $5 :).

I have also thought about mickey ears for some of my closer friends. I have actually never had them for myself so I thought that it would be a good idea as something for me and my friends to share. As for the disney store, I would love to be able to do that but since we live in a rural area, the closest Disney store is over three hours away. Which is sad because it is my favorite store of all time! Thanks again for the advice and I am always open to more ideas!

Buying gifts that you can split is good. But remember when checking out at the register ask for extra small bags so you can give everyone there gift in a Disney bag they will love that too. Just ask for it when checking out each time you buy something they will be glad to give it to you.

That is a great idea Maryjane1! I have never thought about doing that. But it makes a lot of sense since I always seem to have a ton of bags when I get back that I don't know what to do with. Plus trying to buy little bags for the gifts gets expensive! Thanks!!!!

you are welcome it comes from shopping so much and bringing gifts back glad I could help thanks for the reply

Souvenier ideas that my 17 year old DD uses:

pack of ink pens and/or pencils (she opens the pack and gives one as they come in packs of 6-10)

Antennae toppers (for her friends who drive)

magnets

Mickey Straws (at the check out in the food courts, less than $1 and come in all different neon colors)

Pack of Candy/lollipop shaped like mickey

Earrings (they come in sets of 3 but she divides)

Those washcloth things that you put in water then they become a full cloth

She has more but is not home now. Good luck.

Lcm2108, thank you for the different ideas. When she does come home and if she has more ideas please let me know. I would like to get all my friends different things if possible or at least different characters. So I need all the help that I can possibly get. Since I am on a tight budget, these options are a very big help. Thanks again to everyone!

I personally like to get the Mickey hair clippies...they are in bins and sold individually by color, plus they have castle ones and other types. I would definately suggest looking in Mousegears when you are there because I remember seeing a lot of little things that were very cute there. I love the stationary, but that can get expensive when buying 20. My guy friends love the plastic swords found just outside POTC. That's all I can think of at the moment. I agree that antenna toppers are a great choice if your friends drive because there is a variety of them.

Just thought that the Rock'n Roller Coaster has a lot of Aerosmith stuff if any of your friends are fans of that. Also, the hair clippies that I mentioned previously also come in packs that you could split.

Thank you 4thof52003. I am sorry that it has taken so long to reply. All of the ideas are great and I really like the Areosmith idea. I never realized that there was so many things that either came in packs or individual that are all pretty cheap. I am looking forward more and more to the trip in December and go shopping for both myself and my friends!

If you were looking to get a few different things for different people, you might consider trading pins. Some of the inexpensive ones are about $6, and you can get them featuring various characters or attractions.:)

...along with gift bags, get boxes! They are always willing to give those. Just be polite :)

I like buying ornaments! You can purchase character ones (if a certain friend loves pooh for instance). I have bought them from $5-$10. Not too bad of an idea. Also mugs with characters. I buy them for my coworkers. Also shot glasses... but those are for the people old enough to drink ;)

If you plan wisely, $250 will be more than enough for you AND your friends for souvies.

Thank you everyone! You all have a lot of great ideas! I have also thought about the pins because i am a big collector of them. I have, last time i counted, 56. I love to shop and i am sure that i will go overboard but what is going to disney world for unless you can spend a lot of money?!;)

I just wanted to say I thought it was very nice and generous of you to take so much time and effort to buy so many friend's and family's souvenEARS. :earsboy: Whatever you get them, I am sure they will appreciate it!

Also, if you are staying on site tip the maid a couple of dollars every day and they will leave extra sets of the Mickey soap, shampoo, etc.
