Disney Premier Visa card- anyone upgrading?

One of the ad banners on the Boards here is for "$100 Statement Credit - after first use of Disney's Premier Visa Card"

For those of you who recently accepted the $50 offer, it might be worth a call to see if they will adjust your offer. Never hurts to try. :)

I thought I read somewhere in this thread that the $100 offer is for people getting a new card - not for people who are upgrading.

Just as an fyi, I'm an existing card member for the past couple of years and received a mailer this past weekend offering me $100 Disney Dollars for upgrading to the premier card.

Argh!

I got my Disney Rewards Visa less than a month ago with a $200 gift card and $49 annual fee and now today DH received an offer in the mail with the $200 gift card and NO annual fee!

Guess I should have waited a bit longer. sighhhhh

Jumping in with a question for those that upgraded from the regular Disney Visa to the Premier...

We did this in February - offer was 3 months of 5% on the bonus categories & 2% on those cats afterwards. $49 annual fee.

Has anyone else with this upgrade offer been charged the annual fee yet? I just went back and checked all statements thru the one that closed a couple of weeks ago & don't see that the annual fee was ever charged. I don't remember anything saying the fee was waived the first year????

Debbie

I upgraded to the premier card a little over a week ago. The offer I received was 50 reward dollars credited to my account after my first purchase. I received my new cards a couple of days ago and when I called to activate them, the rep told me it was noted on my account that I get the 50 reward dollars and a $49 statement credit. I asked her twice if that was correct because I thought it was just the 50 reward dollars. She assured me that I was getting both. We'll see!

Same here - I upgraded in early February; my 90 days was up May 6. The $49 fee still has not posted to my account as of my 5/25 billing. There wasn't anything in the offer stating "first year waived", so I'm sure they'll get around to billing it. ;) (although it surprises me that they didn't add it to the first bill. :confused3)

I got the offer to upgrade to the Premier, with 50$ back...... I didn't take the offer, figuring I get 5% on other cards (Chase Freedom).... so 2% was no big deal anyway.

When I saw the ad for the 100$ gift card I applied for a new card and was declined!
They said I have too much available credit (I have cards with high credit limits and no balance).
We keep those accounts open in case of emergency ..... I guess maybe I should start closing down some of those accounts. Possibly, they are hurting my credit.

Be careful -- closing accounts WILL hurt your credit (at least temporarily) so make sure you aren't wanting to apply for anything like a mortgage/refinance any time soon.

i upgraded the last day of the 5x offer (April 30th, I believe) and I'm wondering when did the 5x offer start. When i activated the card (which I received a few weeks later) or the day I upgraded???

Your problem may be that you have too much credit from Chase. Try calling the reconsideration line at 888-245-0625. You may need to move some credit on another Chase card to the Disney Visa in order to be approved. -- Suzanne

Our rep said we got the 49$ credit (got that offer in the mail) and the rep also said we get 5% for three months as well just 2 days ago. Hope she's right!

It appears as though everything has caught up at the end of my promo period. My closing date is the first of each month, but I upgraded on 2/3, so it took four statements for everything to show up. Looks like I may have gotten just a few EXTRA reward dollars, as well! I hope everyone has the same results! Best of luck, everyone! :thumbsup2

My 3 month bonus offer was up around May 3rd or 7th. Just got our latest statment and my bonus points are wrong again. This time by $15+. Over the whole period I'm missing about $28. All the 2% catagories have been correct but the 3% is always off. Don't understand why it's so hard too compute. Guess I need to call and get those points.
I must say, this has been a great offer for us. Before I upgraded I had about $89 as of Jan. I now have $515!

i recieved a upgrade offer for $100 in disney dollars after first purchase with a $49 annual fee...might take them up on it... do they usually charge you the 49 right away or in year? just curious. and yes it came in the mail in a big fancy booklet...

I just received my first statement with a full month of no bonus offers and it included a statement which reads:

We hope you enjoy all the benefits your card has to offer and we appreciate your business. Your annual membership fee in the amount of $49.00 will be billed on 08/01/2012.

I had a couple of days worth of bonus dollars on my statement I recieved yesterday and it says the same thing. Good to finally know when it will be charged.

So I wonder if that means we decide to downgrade back to the original card before then if we will never be charged the $49 fee for this year.

They state that you MUST keep the card for one full year before you are eligible to go back to the original card.

That's fair. I'm actually surprised they are waiting as long as they are to bill the $49. I would have preferred it be billed the first month, but as you said - at least now we know when it will be billed! :thumbsup2
