Disney Premier Visa card- anyone upgrading?

Thanks! That is exactly what mine says. Haven't gotten any cards in the mail. I didn't realize it would be the same credit card number. I guess I can go ahead and book our WDW package then. I had been waiting to get the 5% on it.

It will be the same 16 digit card number, but your exp. date and 3-digit verification code will change.

Have another question. Does reloading or adding additional funds to a Disney GC count towards the 5%? I have started buying them at my local grocery store, but they only have $25 ones and I am going to end up with a ridiculous stack of cards. Thinking maybe just to add funds to them? Anyone know if this is considered a Disney transaction?

Update.... I just found a list of "Disney Locations" on the following site and Disney Gift Card is listed.

I think I will call Chase this morning to confirm.

I think it would count under grocery store purchase. You got 5% back for grocery store purchases as well. If you were worried you could always purchase from the Disney store and get the 5% back:). Just my two cents but I have to say I am so glad I upgraded my card! I have earned an extra 450 Disney dollars that I would not have earned had I stayed with the regular card! So I have to say even with the annual fee (which they have not charged me for) it has been a great deal for me:)

I have bought 8 $25 gift cards so far at my local grocery store so that I was earning 5% back, but I was hoping to add funds to them so I don't have to keep buying them in $25 increments and go to WDW with a stack of them.

I did in fact check with Chase and yes the gift cards fall under Disney purchases and are eligible for the additional rewards.

However, at this time the only place to add funds to the giftcards is at the park or at a Disney Store, which unfortunately I don't have locally :(

I think instead of buying more at the grocery store though I will just order a couple bigger denominations from the website, so I can just take one for each of planned trips. I feel like if I put it all one one GC, I run the risk of losing it and all the money on it.

Is there some benefit to buying Disney GC's that I'm missing? :confused3

Isn't it the same reward percentage whether you buy cards (at a grocery store or through Disney) as it is spending money at Disney?

If I'm missing extra rewards, I wanna fix it! :goodvibes

Right now because we just upgraded to the Premier, we are earning 5% on groceries, dining, gas, and Disney purchases. We wont be going to WDW until after our promo period is over, so I am trying to maximize my rewards now ;)

Did you get an offer in the mail? I would like to update but all I keep getting is a $50 promo

We got offers in the mail as well as email. Both were the same offer. But I know when I called, the rep told me that there were different offers floating around. I am not sure how they choose who is offered what. We have only had the card since 2010 and haven't used it in over a year. But we do bank both personally and for our business with Chase and have a lot of credit with them, so I am not sure if that played into.

Thanks :) How long does it normally take to get the cards? It's been at least 11 or 12 days since I applied.

I just got mine (yesterday's mail) and we called to upgrade last Sunday night, so just about a week. We had applied online initially but that wasn't moving through the process so we just upgraded by phone and our acct changed over in less than 24 hours for earning the higher rewards. I would call and check if you don't have your cards soon.

Is there anyway to check and see what a merchants code is? I am trying to figure out if my butcher would fall under grocery or specialty. I just started buying quite a few more things there like milk and other items, so my regular grocery bill is quite a bit lower.

I upgraded online with the 100 offer and then called 5 days later adn he didnt see anything that i had upgraded, we then did it over the phone. I know this has happened to a lot of people so just a warning, justcall :) after talking to him showed up online about24 hours later.

After being a card holder for about 10 years I figured maybe it was time to try this new premier level. All they were offering me to upgrade was the standard 2%, no gift card, no 5% for 90 days. Nothing. She said there were no promotions attached to my account.

I said that others were getting things, and the response was that if they have a "code" I could use that to get it applied.

So....Does anyone have a "code", please :worship:

I just scoured the last email they sent and don't see any code :( I wish I could be of more help. The email does say that this offer is in intended for Dh's name, card ending in XXXX. I will keep my eyes open for any offers I find.

Can you just apply for the Premier card rather than upgrading? I just received this offer in a Disney Insider email:

http://www.disneyvisa.com/?CELL=6TXG19

I have read through and see that some of you had Target and Walmart categorized as groceries and some did not. Some had to be Super, some not. Of course no real rhyme or reason. But on the Disney Visa website is clearly states that Target and Walmart are categorized as groceries.

"Merchants in the grocery store category include supermarkets as well as smaller grocery stores and most convenience stores. Some larger merchants that sell a wide variety of goods, including groceries, may be assigned warehouse club or discount store merchant codes and would not be included in the grocery store category; however, Wal-Mart and Target will earn 2% in this category. Also, some smaller merchants that specialize in only a few grocery items may be assigned a specialty store merchant code and would not be included."

Is there any way to verify that my Target and Walmart will fall under the grocery category besides waiting for my first statement since upgrading? We did not use the card in 2011 so I don't have a year end to look at, and my 2010 did not separate out groceries.

You should be able to call the number on your Disney Visa and tell them the name and location of the store. They were able to look up my Walmart store to ensure that it was under grocery. Although, I don't know why I even had them check... I buy all of my groceries at Kroger anyway. :rotfl:
