Disney Premier Visa card- anyone upgrading?

You should be able to call the number on your Disney Visa and tell them the name and location of the store. They were able to look up my Walmart store to ensure that it was under grocery. Although, I don't know why I even had them check... I buy all of my groceries at Kroger anyway. :rotfl:

Perfect! I will give them a call in the morning. I just want to stock up on gift cards while I am in my bonus period and I do PLENTY of shopping at Target, and a bit at Walmart, although I did just buy DS a laptop at Walmart so I am hoping that was at 5% back :)

Just an FYI, I just got off the phone with Disney Visa. I was told and reconfirmed 3 times what he told me. I was told that all Targets, super and non are now considered groceries, Walmart however need to be Supercenters, to be grocery.

Let's hope the information I got is correct

If you have a charge from the store in questions, you can check the category online.

Hit "I'd like to" then "dispute a charge" then click on the transaction. You can see the merchant category. Obviously, exit by "go to account activity", not by hitting the "dispute this charge" button. Best of luck -- Suzanne

That is AWESOME to know, thank you!!! I actually had called back to Chase before I left for Target this morning and the girl I got was super nice, she pulled my acct and checked the actual locations I shopped at last week and verified they were categorized as groceries. Kids school uniforms earning me 5% as groceries, LOVE IT! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if you can still get the 5% off for 3 months promotion that they once offered people to move to the $49 annual fee Disney Premier Visa?

I just called to inquire about signing up for this $200 Gift Card offer:

http://www.mychasecreditcards.com/disney_premier/video_email?CELL=6WYP11

and the person on the line had never heard of the 5% for 3 months offer.

I know on all the offers I got had an expiration date of July 31st. Bur it seemed like they have been renewing the offers. I would try back and get someone else on the phone.

OK, thanks. The details on that $200 Gift Card offer are:

Respond by August 31, 2012 to qualify for this special offer.
$49 Annual Fee

To apply by phone 1-888-873-2392
Be sure to mention code 6HYV11

I don't think the 5% off for 3 months is an offer that had a "code" with an expiration date. But I could be wrong.

I just got approved for the premier card less than 3 weeks ago, when the gift card offer was $100, anyone know if Chase will change it to the $200 dollar card since I have not yet received my gift card?

Edited to add: I called Chase and they have put in a request to the marketing dept. up upgrade the promotional gift card, however she said it is unlikely......not starting off on a good note with me CHASE!

I upgraded to the Disney's Premier Visa card with the $100 offer. You won't receive a $100 gift card - but you'll be credited with $100 in rewards dollars. Mine were in my account almost immediately.

I would not be surprised if they deny it. I would think most companies would not allow you to switch to a different promotion. Best of luck, though. Maybe they will come back and say yes. As with anything, you'll never know if you don't ask. :goodvibes

And Valpo, the intial 5x offer did not have a specific code attached to it. It was just an offer for current cardholders to upgrade to the new card.

Mine should be a gift cards, as I was told my the rep on the phone. I am a new member not an upgraded member.

I didn't realize you weren't upgrading. I hope you get the $200 gift card, but as the Chase rep told you - it's probably unlikely.

i just got approved for the premier card, using the promotion for $200 giftcard. it actually said giftcard, not reward dollars, on the offer. i even asked the rep on the phone when i would get the giftcard, and she said it would be mailed 6-8 weeks after my first purchase. so is this not true? will i have a credit on my statement or something instead of a giftcard? :confused3

Is yours an upgrade or a new account? Mine was an upgrade, and the $100 was credited to my rewards dollars. It was not a statement credit.

Does anyone know when the annual fee is charged? I upgraded in late February and haven't seen the fee on my credit card statement yet.

That makes sense. When I called the number about the $200 Gift Card promo, they told me it was for a separate credit card and not an upgrade of my regular Disney Visa. I'll call customer service and inquire about upgrading my card and ask about the 5% for 3 months promo. I'm going to DLR in January, so I'll upgrade in November if the 5% is still available.

Here's what you do if you do not get the additional $100 enrollment bonus. You email customer service through the online account access website, telling them you have this code (6HYV11), but did not apply it to your application. Ask politely if you are able to get the remaining $100 added to your account in order to bring you up to the $200 enrollment bonus. I did that, and they added 100 Disney reward dollars to my account.
