I think i already know the answer to this question but does anybody know if CA residents can purchase the premier passport by paying monthly like the regular passports??? If not, can you upgrade your pass to the premier passport if you are paying monthly on it???

You can't make monthly payments on the Premier, but you can make monthly payments on the Premium and then pay the difference to upgrade to Premier (while continuing your monthly payments.)

You can't pay for a Premier pass with monthly payments. However, if you have a CA pass and are using monthly payments, you can upgrade to Premier by paying the difference between your current level of pass, and continue to pay your regular monthly payments.

That's what we did last year! Paid for a premium using the monthly payment plan then just paid the difference to Premier when we upgraded. Much easier than having to pay full price of the Premier x 4 all at once!

god yes!! awesome!!! im planning on going next june back to wdw and its actually going to save me almost $100 if i do it this way so I'd rather go premier...thanks

btw, what is the percent discount on the premier? Is it 20% like the premium pass???

Whe you get your premier pass I would love to know if they let u upgrade on monthly payments because I had the premiumWDW pass and upgraded to premier a couple months ago and hey would not let me keep the monthly payments I had to pay off my pass the pay the premier pass difference as well. Maybe it's a WDw thing or a new policy but we talked to aspire visor and that's what he said. I thought I could keep the monthly payments an just pay the difference bc of all of the positive feedback but they would not let me :(

We got my wife's on 5/12 and were able to "finance" the Premium and pay the difference for the Premier. No problem at all.

The benefits for Premier are actually higher at some of the restaurants...I never paid much attention to this until I once looked at my receipt and it had "Club 33 Discount"...(I WISH)...didn't think anything of it till it happened again later. I asked the teller "what up with that" and she replied that the Premier got the same discount as Club 33 members, which was higher than premium (can't remember the percentage). To enter the discount for Premiers they had to type in the AP number manually rather than just swipe it and the tellers figured out that is was just easier to hit the "Club 33" button which was already programmed into the POS machine!

..and that is "Point of Sale" machine...(although they may also be a POS machine...who knows!)

Well then WDW is just greedy. We did get our premiers but we had to pay for our premiums and then pay the difference for the premier as well. I have two DLR trips planned before they expire so I will get my money's worth but there is something about WDWs customer service that bugs me I've never had good encounters with them

The premier does not have a bigger discount than a premium. The dinning discount is 15% for premier, premium, and Club 33. The reason why they use the Club 33 discount is simply the CM's are to lazy or feel it takes to long to type in the bar code number as the magnectic strip on the premier is the ticket for WDW so the CM can't swipe the pass like they can with all of the Disneyland passes.

I have the opposite experience. My wife and I upgraded our Premium passports to Premiers at WDW. They were due to expire this September. The CM noticed we had only used ours a few times and extended our due date to April of 2013.

That is very nice of that CM!! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if we will get the current price of an AP to apply towards the Premier or will it be the old price before they raised the Disneyland APS...?

My understanding is, its the current price is what gets applied to the upgrade

Thats what I am hoping... it won't make sense otherwise even with the ability to buy TIW and get free parking for our WDW portion. Thanks! :beach:

I believe they apply what you actually paid for your current pass to your upgrade. There are no discounts of any kind for a Premier Passport. :(

i purchased a premier pass at walt disney world last weekend, and when i try to register the pass on the disneyland website, i get a "system error" message? anyone else have this problem? i called DL today and the CM told me to try again tomorrow and if i continue to get the message to call back...I figured I would have gotten a better answer...oh well.

DLR applies the price you paid for your AP to the upgrade. We tried to upgrade in January 2012 and DLR knew we had only paid $439 for the premium AP (before the June 2011 price increase).

You will want to renew/upgrade in DLR because WDW has a different system. We had to go to guest relations to have the premier pass activated at WDW. So, if you don't do it at DLR, who knows what WDW will do (will they know what the current price of the DLR AP is, what the price was when you got your AP, etc) or will you just get "no credit"? The expiration date was illegible so we told the WDW cast member it didn't expire til 2013 (which is correct).

So, better to be safe than sorry and upgrade at DLR.

Different computer systems. You may need to go to DLR to have it activated in their system first.
