I was just interested in seeing if anyone had any reviews they wanted share for the port excursions on Nassau offered by Disney. We have been to Nassau once on Carnival, didn't have a plan, so we "wung" it and ending up getting a good deal on a cab tour of the island which took us around seeing government buildings, a pit stop at the beach, rum cake factory, fort fincastle and a 20 min stop at Atlantis. We're thinking about trying one of the excursions offered by Disney on our trip in September, and would love to hear any recommendations or reviews. We can't decide. We will have our 4 yr old daughter in tow too. Thank you! :D

Blue Lagoon Beach Excursion is fun. Blue Lagoon is beautiful.

I am also interested in this. We are leaning toward Blue Lagoon's dolphin swim (we really want to do a dolphin swim and Nassau is our only port other than Castaway) but also are interested in other possibilities.

I might recommend looking at the Ardastra Gardens tour, or the chocolate tour. Ardastra Gardens is a beautiful little zoo, where they have a flamingo march a couple of times a day, and you can feed lorikeets. That might be fun for a four-year-old. I haven't gone on the chocolate tour with children myself, but there were children taking it and they seem to enjoy themselves very much.

I don't do dolphin swims but I can assure you that the island is great. The food was nothing special but good enough. We had a good time and the boat ride to get there was fun.

I did a scuba diving excursion that I booked through DCL and I had a great time. The dive sites where nice and the guides where knowledgeable. Obviously you need to be a certified diver to go on the excursion. The drive from the port to the actual place we collected our gear and boarded the dive boats was a little crazy but I guess that's how they all drive there.

We did the excursion to Atlantis -- liked the fact that the shuttle transportation to and from the ship was included and avaliable intermittently all day. We got a tour of the hotel and tickets to the acquarium - which was awesome. Then we walked the grounds to see all the marine pools and took the shuttle back about 3 p.m. We loved it. My husband and daughter did the Pirate Museum in town and said it was fantastic -- they did that on their own though.

If you want something on the shorter side, we did the semi-sub excursion. It wasn't crazy early, and it would be really easy with a little one. We were led on a short walk from the ship to the ferry (literally a few min), then took a ferry out to the reefs and transferred onto the semi-sub. The ferry has a guide who talks about the famous people's mansions as you go past them, and he was pretty funny too. The semi-sub operator has gov't permission to go out on the reefs and knew what he was doing and talking about... and they tossed out food every so often to attract fish. We saw barracuda, nurse shark, lots of colorful tropical fish, etc. When time was up, the semi-sub went back to the surface and we transferred back onto the ferry. There was really no talking that time, just a boat ride. They dropped us at the far end of the straw market so we had to walk through there to get back to the ship, maybe 10min. My son really wanted to see a shark in its native environment, but neither of our kids wanted to be off the ship for long - so it worked well for us. If you've been to Disneyland, the semi-sub feels sort of like the Nemo sub, which my kids love - and that was one of the reasons I picked it. It's narrow, and there are seats along both sides; you're looking straight out the windows under water. The entire outing was only a couple of hours.

We did the Atlantis Aquaventure and loved it, but our kids were a little older at the time (6 and 8). Years ago on an adults-only trip we did a city tour, but wouldn't really recommend especially with kids it as it was a little boring and too many vendors pressuring you at the stops.

I would like to see a nerf shark - does it shoot soft darts from its mouth or something cool like that? :)

hahaha!!! ok, apparently my typing speed and brain don't always work in sync, and my brain really wants to call nurse sharks nerf sharks before it thinks it all the way through. If that shark had shot darts out, it would have definitely been the coolest excursion ever for an 8yo boy!!

And here I thought I was missing out on a new experience ;)
