:flower: I have a tall and hefty DS10. He is so excited about the pool slide. But I've been reading about the fact that the slide is for children only. Are there height and weight restrictions?? We are going with other boys who are smaller in size and I can see a real disappointed boy if he is too big. I'd just want to warn him first. :confused3

Thanks!!!!

From an August Navigator off the Wonder

Mickeys Slide -
height - 32" - 64" and ages 4-14

Hope this works

My twelve year old misses it by 1 inch, but she is 12!!!

Man - my daughter is 13 and is 5' 7"!! I was hoping that she could still try the slide but has accepted the fact that although she is still really a kid, she is limited to doing adult things sometimes. She is essentially too old for the child's pool (too tall) and too young in age for the adult pool. Sometimes she says she should where a button that says "I'm only 13!".

My son is 63" now. I'll just tell him to stop growing for a month or so. - Yeah right!!!! :rotfl2:

I hope he can make it though. You know how we hate to disappoint our little ones.

Thanks so much for the info!!!

How about if he's tall enough, but under 4 years old? Do they have to be at least 4 if they are tall enough?
Just curious?
Thanks!

I'm having a blast with pictures today!!!

okay my son is 37 inches but only three and swims like a fish- he cant go down it? :guilty:

You do need to be 4 years old to go down the slide. My DS was tall enough, but was denied to go down because he was 3 when we were onboard in November. I kept waiting for him to come down after my DD came down but he didn't. I at first thought he chickened out, so I was going up to get him. He was escorted down by one of the pool CM's and then I was informed he wasn't allowed because he was still 3. They do check and if they aren't 4, they aren't allowed down.

So let me ask you this. My son is 12 1/2 but he is 5ft 10in. Because he is twelve, will they let him slide? I didn't think so.

No, because he is over the height limit.

Thye don't have to have any swimming ability to go down the slide but they do have to be 4. The slide lets out in this tiny little puddle of water, no place to swim in there.

that makes no sense than if there is a height requirement. Its like saying you are not allowed to ride the barnstormer because you are not 4 but by the way you do reach the height requirement. give me a break...

My son was 5'9" and only 11; he could not go down. He didn't even try. He was taller than most of the CMs in the lab! He's still bummed about not being able to use the slide. Actually, I would have loved to have used the slide!

Clarabellcow---that is one of the best, most realistic picture of the mickey pool and slide I have seen! Disney has just the spot from which to take their pic to make it look so much bigger! Thanks for the Real view! My kids still can't wait! And fortunately they are both in the age and height range!

My son is 12 and 5'9" I gues he won't be able to go either. Why is there a heighth limit? First cruise taking kids, so I don't know anything about the kids programs. 12 and 15 year old boys coming. Do they go to the kids programs??

Stop pissing and moaning. Your kid doesn't meet the height AND age requirement. Sad Boo Hoo, and all.

Of course, I'm just kidding.

I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

The 12 year old would go to the kids club and the 15 year old coul go to the Stack with the other teens.

wow- I dont think some of your comments were necessary at all ma2patrick :confused3 Im sure there are plenty of things to do otherwise if he doesnt go down a slide and Im sure we will have a magical time as we always do on our disney vacations. But I was making a example from what we have encountered at the magic kingdom. There are height requirements and it doesnt revolve around what age Disney thinks a child is mature- it revolves around safety. Our son has been riding down the slides at the resorts since he was two and handles himself better than most of the older kids since he can swim and follows the rules. Im pretty sure if its because we live in south fla year round. He is in swimming pools and exposed to waterslides more than most other kids his age. Im just dismayed now that we will have to tell him he cant go down it while his sister can. He is not going to understand that and neither do I. Thanks so much for your negative comments and next time If you cant say something nice please dont say anything at all.

We were on the Wonder a couple of weeks ago. The majority of the kids in this pool that we saw were from 4-8 years old. Sorry parents with kids in this range this is where you will be and may never see any other pool. The kids love it too much..
