Elio was supposed to be released in March of last year, but due to the writers strike it was delayed until this year, so no they didn't rush it out. Bad timing, not a lot of extra marketing for it plus going up against sequels with big-name recognition sealed it's fate as a flop money-wise.
Wait? The plush are parks exclusive? That's what I've been waiting for on the Disney Store's website. Do the parks still have that service where you can order merchandise from home?
Yes and I have been also waiting to see if the Elio plushies are also gonna be sold at Disney Store but all they have lately is Inside Out 2 plushies but no Elio plushies. But I don't recall if the parks still have that service to order park merchandise from home. But as I mentioned I think Elio is getting the same treatment as The Good Dinosaur and there is few promotions of Elio anywhere and it tells me that Pixar is giving the movie less promotion
The Good Dinosaur at least had merchandise.

Things that are park exclusive usually make their way to eBay, so it's worth checking there if that's an option for you.
No I get thatI don't know - I mean, those "fun" movies are pretty much about feelings too! Most of them can make this grown man cry.
but it just seems for too many years they are rolling out movies that the under 9 set is just not going to get other than they are colorful. I mean maybe that is the new Pixar target audience, and I get young families aren't going to the theater ~ I mean the cost of tickets and concessions is ridiculous. Maybe Disney+ has replaced the theater for that age group.
I saw it tonight at Disney Springs!!! What a cute film. Honestly, Elio is quite like me way back when… quite shy and not quite social… even hesitant to be on such a platform like this!
I was looking at those. Be VERY careful with their secondary market sellers!!! A lot of them are using photos of the parks exclusive plushies that I assume they stole from ebay. What they actually send out is some kind of cheap knock off.
