Hi, Has anyone had a child with a Peanut Nut/Tree Nut Allergy that did one of the Disney Pirate Cruise's?
I would really like my son to experience it before he gets to old, but I know for lunch they do the peanut butter and jelly uncrustables.
I was wondering if they would change the lunch out if there was a child with the peanut allergy.
My DD did the cruise when she was young and also did the chef class at Grand Floridian and she loved doing all this. I really wish my son could experience it too.
So has anyone had a child do the Pirate cruise?

Thanks for all info.

I thought I read awhile back that they stopped serving the peanut butter sandwiches. The website now says they serve a light snack. You could call the Recreation number and ask. 407-939-7529

That would be great for us if they did. I will call them today..

Thank You.

I just called and I only asked about the one at Yacht and Beach Club and yes, it is a snack now of goldfish crackers, or pretzels and juice. I am excited now he can experience other things at Disney.:cool1:
Now I have to call back and make sure it's snacks at all the locations, it turns out the other kids in our party will not be there for the days the Y and B do their tours. So Now I have to try for a Saturday or Monday.

As I understand it, they stopped serving lunch due to the peanut allergies. They now serve snacks that those with other allergies cannot have. In my experience they have not come up with an "allergen safe" snack, so the cruise is now out for us.

Honestly I wish they would take away the snacks all together and just offer a drink to them and I would feel 100 percent better. My DD was able to experience a lot of different things that Disney offers. My DS has not. Don't get me wrong he isn't upset about it I don't even know how much he knows what they offered. I would just like to see him join in and have fun with different experiences.
I'm so sorry your child can't try it out. Maybe if we make suggestions to the fact that if they drop all food to allow all kids to join in they would do it.

I for one will suggest it when I make my reservations.

I think they did without the snack for awhile after the peanut allergy people complaints. People did not feel they were getting their monies worth when they stopped serving lunch. So they started with the snack with the other allergens.

My dd does know what she is missing, she can't do a lot of things at WDW. The cruise was one she would have been able to do, but now can't.

Who knows, maybe food on the pirate cruise will be the next budget cut WDW makes.

My kids did the cruise from GF last October and it was just the snack, no uncrustable.
