Who knows how many fakes I have in my collection though. I guess if I didn't notice and I am keeping them, it doesn't really matter

I'm almost afraid to do the pin exchange again now because I'm afraid I'll send someone a fake. I just know what I like and I try to send my "pin pal" something I think he/she will like. I haven't ever checked out on Pinpics to see if anything I send is fake. I just know what I like and as long as I like it, that's all that has ever mattered to me. I guess I'm not a serious enough pin trader/collector.

My last package arrived yesterday from Amanda & Ethan (The Disney Brunch) she sent a tinker bell pin and a Disneyland Olympic team salute 1988 pin.

This reminds me so much of an old fashioned pin/badge that was given to me as a souvenir from a friend that went on holiday to WDW in 1985/6. I think it was pretty much the same but mine had Donald on the front. I got it when I was 9 and I finally made it one WDW 20 years later aged 29!

I do buy the mystery lots on ebay....I love the mystery!! So far, so good. I seem to go to the same couple of people all the time though.

Donna I got my last batch of pins from the girl you suggested and there was no problem with them.

I only buy pins off eBay for me and since I'm not trading them no biggie if fake.

Gosh, I was not meaning to sound stuck up about my pins or anything... Hope I did not come across that way.

I buy what I like too but the part that just really makes me mad is when people knowingly sell the scrappers that they bought for 10cents each from china all over ebay and make money off of them saying they are real pins. It is so dishonest and then they end up all over the lanyards the cm's wear at Disney and everyone goes home with fakes. I would only know that a pin is fake if there were info on it from pinpics so when I look a pin up to add to my collection list I read about it and if they say there are scrappers of it then I check mine out to see if it is the real version or not. If you see it is you know you can't add it to your trades on pinpics b/c you can't send anyone a fake pin like that and it would also not be fair for me to knowingly put them on a cm's lanyard on our trip, ya know? So then these people get your money and you end up with a pin you can't trade. I just get so mad with the bad sellers who do that to people is all. They really hurt the hobby for those of us who really enjoy it.

No Amanda I don't think your a pin snob. Just pointing out that even with the pins I got from eBay for myself according to Pinpics they were good except for the Sedesma and I liked it so much it didn't matter.

Now after all that, I haven't bought pins off eBay in a very long time so there might be a lot more scrappers out there now, then when I started.

And I agree it does stink that they are so flooded that they have made it unto the CM lanyards.

Oh and the Lollipop pins, none that I have seen on eBay had the double nubs that they talk about on Pinpics.

I'm a bit nervous too. I really hope I didn't send anyone a fake pin. If I did...I'm sorry!! I agree w/ you and what Merryweather said...if I like it, I guess I don't really care if it's a fake or not. I'd just hate to pass off a fake to someone else.

Don't even worry about it. I only said it as a warning to everyone to be careful. Ethan loves his pins and has no idea what the difference is in a real or fake one so he is still happy and that is who I did this for so it is not a big deal at all.

You are not coming off as a pin snob at all, Amanda.
We should all know the possibilites of what we are getting and be careful of what we pass on in trades.
I know we got some "nontradable" ones from cast members. I don't think they really look at them.
It is a shame those ebay sellers (well, some of them) are taking advantage of people
My Cheshire Cat lollipop came from ebay and it does have the two nibs on it.
