Disney pin codes + Bill = TROUBLE *11/01 Almost time for our Happy Place*

So I've been making a booklet to give each of them- with general information about WDW- including lots of things I take for granted, a little about our hotel, our daily itinerary and ADR's as well as the park hrs each day, and a bunch of stuff like word search puzzles and word jumbles at the end. And obviously lots of pictures throughout... still need to scan some maps to include, too, since the girls like maps. (obviously we'll get better maps once we arrive) I figure it will give us something to do at the airport... it's been so much fun working on it, and I'm so excited about taking newbies. And I love reading about all the things you're doing for the kids, cause I'm sure you share the same kinds of feelings I have.

I am going to do that stuff in the binder, daily itinerary etc. It is fun, I am really enjoying making it. Thanks for reading.

I love your Walt quotes at the beginning of each installment, Tracy. I have several of the printed off and hanging all over the office.

Great deal on the tickets, but what stress! I would have been a mess. I'm glad you caught your mistake early on and were able to make the changes. Can you imagine if you hadn't???

And thank you for remembering Austin. It is such a tragedy.

I am going to make sure to take the kids to One Man's Dream and show them the man that made Walt Disney World possible. I really can't believe I messed up the tickets to begin with, I am usually a fanatic about read and rereading before I hit the button that buys them :sad2:.

Everything I have read about Austin just makes me sad to see that such a great person died.

First, thank you so much for posting this link. What a tragic loss of a young life... Austin sounded like a wonderful kid and a friendly and enthusiastic Cast Member. How lovely that you and Bill are planning to wear those special pins in his honor.

Second, congrats on the airfare... every bit helps!

And last, I'm laughing at your conversion to Binder-hood!! Yeah, travelling with kids can do that to you!!

Kathy

Yes every bit helps, sometimes I think we are crazy for taking on the cost of taking 4 people with us, but it will all work out. I just really had this need to get a binder, like I had to have one, that cracks me up :rotfl:.

Welcome to the dark side.......

Love another Binder Groupie!!!! Can't wait to meet him or her, it's like a new car.

The dark side :lmao:. I am feeling pressured by all these binder veterans to have a great binder, what if it doesn't live up to the binders before them :sad1:.

I cannot wait to see your binder. I am so like that too but I am also cheap. Love all your good buys you got. I love the dollar store for that reason.

I am so glad I went to the Dollar Tree, now i just have to find cheap glow bracelets, I feel I need to have them too.

Tracy you were talking about pin trading for the kiddos. Have you ever been to mousepinsforless.com? I found them before our last trip. We bought the 50 piece grab bag. We picked out the ones we wanted to keep & took the rest to trade. It was great it ended up being something like less than $2 a pin. Plus maybe you could dole them out a few pins a day for trading purposes. I gave each kid about 6 each day that way it would last longer. Just a thought.

Thanks for reminding me about mousepinsforless.com, I had forgotten all about them.

Binder :lovestruc Love

My binder is sitting here with me saying fill me up, fill me up!

I surprised you didn't know that you change your ressies online with SW. But now you do so watch out! It probably won't happen this trip but if you book airfare and the rate drops, you can re-book it at the lower fare and get a credit to use within like 12 months.

I knew we could cancel our existing reservations and re-book I just always used to call them and cancel, then go online to redo it. I never looked around to see that I could just change things around.

BINDERS are gud.

Hopefully very gud, we will see.

I found some glow bracelets at Michaels, but I don't think you guys have them down there. I can't remember if you have Dollar Tree, but I found them there also.

Our Michaels shut down over a year ago, I didn't even think to look for them when I was at the Dollar Tree the other day. It gives me a reason to go back :rotfl:.

Okay first (but not most important, I just want to mention it before I forget) I found packs of 12 glow bracelets in the $1 section at Target. It was a couple of weeks ago before the 4th, but hopefully they still have some. Do you have a Target close by?

I've been going back and forth about a binder. I did one last time, but I'm thinking my Passporter will be enough this time. I haven't made a decision for sure yet though.

I need to get to Dollar Tree. I've been wanted to check out the Disney stuff there, but the closest one isn't that close. I don't get to that side of town often. Maybe tomorrow. :rolleyes1

Those Monorail pins are cool! And thanks for more info about Austin. The whole thing is just sad.

Yay for such a great price on airfare!! I was actually coming over to tell you about the $25 off AirTran if you flew out of Knoxville, but you got a great deal anyway! :thumbsup2

Love the monorail pins! That is so sad about the accident. :sad1:

Can't wait to see your binder!

We have a Target not too far from here, I will have to check that out, thanks!

I felt I should do the binder so the kids would have something to look through, I am also making a smaller daily itinerary to carry with me in the parks.

This will be my 7th trip to WDW with Bill and we have never flown with anyone but SouthWest, we know their procedures with the wheelchair, they really are careful with it and we just feel safe with them.

I haven't ventured into Binder World...yet;)

I do keep a notbook with all my confirmation #'s, etc in it.

I got glow sticks at the Dollar store.:thumbsup2

I ordered glow necklaces on ebay and I STILL have some from last january's trip!

Why is now that we are taking kids I feel I have to make Tink bags and get all that crap? It is the DIS pressure I tell you :rotfl:.

Thanks Kat, I always forget about looking at Ebay, I am scared to go there though, I seem to buy all sorts of stuff I don't need when I go there :sad2:.

I'm all caught up finally! I just LOVE your idea of wearing the purple monorail pin in honor of Austin. I have been following the story and investigation as well....the whole thing is just tragic, and I think what hits me the most, is that this place that brings us so much joy and so much happiness, will always have a different meaning to his mother and other friends and family....it will be a place of sorrow and sadness for them and that just breaks my heart.

I did have to break down and do a binder for the big Thanksgiving Trip with 16 in 2007, but I didn't really do one for our October trip....just kept a notebook with my ADRs and my TGM stuff....I can totally understand the need to get one with your trip with kids this time....you're doing great with all the plans and I know it will be a fantastic trip! :goodvibes

Hi Sara! I couldn't figure out why the Monorail accident was hitting me so hard, but I think you just explained it to me. The place that most of us love had something tragic happen there and his Mom and g/f will never view WDW the same :sad1:. It breaks my heart too.

I am hoping it will be a great trip, but after the mess we had with Amy I know not to get my hopes too high. :sad2:.

============================================================

Speaking of Amy, for those of you that don't know back in October we took our "friend" Amy on a 10 day Disney trip. All she had to pay for was her dining and the extra person fee on the room. We took care of airfare, tickets, etc. She was to help me a little with Bill on this trip. Well if any of you read my report from that trip you know things with her didn't go so well and to be honest I glazed over some of it because Bill said the entire report would have just been negative.

When we got back from that trip we got a couple of text messages and 1 phone call then nothing, this is from someone that would call us weekly and drop by weekly. It broke Bill's heart that she would act this way.

Well on Friday she left a message on Bill's phone after 10pm. The phone was in Bill's backpack and it went straight to voicemail. She had wanted to "drop by because she was in town". She just lives outside our town and is 'in town" all the time so I have no idea why this night would be the one to want to come by. She stated she thought we "might be mad and not talking to her, but wanted to know if she could come by".

Now here is where Bill and I are different, completely different. Bill has friends that will wander in and out of his life mainly when they want something. They can go months without even a phone call then show up or call when they need something :sad2:. This disgusts me and well makes me very mad . He will just talk to them like nothing happened. Me on the other hand has learned over the years it is not worth putting forth the effort with people like that because HELLO they apparently weren't really our friends to begin with.

We had a "discussion" about what to do after that voicemail was listened to. I said there was nothing to do, nothing to say, she made that clear fo the 9 months she hasn't talked to us. What gives her the right to just waltz back into our lives after she hurt us both buy her actions/inactions? Bill said he saw nothing wrong with calling her and saying hi. I told Bill that was fine, but if she wants to come by I will be shopping, walking, or somewhere else.

Any opinions on this? Am I just being a witch? I just don't think I want to waste good energy in my life on someone that doesn't appreciate it anymore.

It is...I find my self doing all kinds of things I never did before I starting hanging out here:lmao:

Am I just being a witch? I just don't think I want to waste good energy in my life on someone that doesn't appreciate it anymore.

I'm with you on this one, but if she is Bill's friend and he wants to see her I don't really think I could tell him no, KWIM?

I am like you Tracy, once someone burns me I find it difficult to let them back in. I wish I could change that about myself and be more forgiving but I find it very difficult allowing myself to open back up to a person again. :sad2:

Oh I know what you mean, I don't want to tell him no, I just told him I would let him talk to her and I would go somewhere else and that did not go over well at all :sad2:.

Nope, I agree with you. Life is too short to worry about people that could care less about you (unless they want something). I hope your "friend" gets the hint when she comes over to visit and you aren't there.

I also feel the same way about the DIS. It makes me want to shop, shop, shop!

Thought I'd posted but obviously not

There'snothing wrong in becoming a binder person :rotfl: I don't have one but I do write plans down and used to have a list of best parade views etc but don't need them anymore :thumbsup2

Fantastic flight prices and good job you noticed the mistake :lmao:

As for Amy I'm not sure what to say, did you ever find out why she went strange after the trip???

I totally agree with your side. KC & I are exactly like you and Bill in situations like this. I don't deal with that carp and he lets it all go.

So what ended up happening, did she come by or call again??

From the responses it seems that all the women agree that "Good Riddance" should be the policy and all the men say let her back in. Must be a biological difference programmed into our DNA. ;)
