Disney pin codes + Bill = TROUBLE *11/01 Almost time for our Happy Place*

Yes it was Heidi... I tried it out but didn't stick with it very long... I'm trying to remember what it was called... I found it... MOUSE MANAGER!!

I'm guilty as charged. Funny thing.....I just downloaded it to my PC this afternoon....weird huh?

the only planning software I can think of for free you can access online is touringplans.com it's through the UG. (heidi used it too)

You can input your date of touring and make your own custom touring palns on maps and then print them out...

I liked doing that, made a set for myself and then a set for Michael (my DS who has ADHD and HFA)

hope that helps till you get more replies

Scrappie (J-)

Thanks Scrappie!! I have an account through touring plans, I was going to mess with that one too.

YAY a new PTR!!! I am totally late and haven't been on the Dis boards in forever! I need to get all caught up! How are you? I started a new job and am working overnights so my computer time is way down. I sadly don't have any trips planned either and therefore am in Disney withdrawal and coming on here makes me want to go even more. LOL. Ok I will stop hijacking and rambling and start reading!

Hey!! It is so great so see you. You can hijack and ramble all you want to. Do you like your new job? I hope so.

Tracy, I think it may have been Heidi/MRYPPNS...

Kathy

Thanks Kathy!

Awww Thanks Amy :hug:, you are too sweet to me!

Great minds think alike Heidi!

Thanks everyone for the quick replies!

Hey!! It is so great so see you. You can hijack and ramble all you want to. Do you like your new job? I hope so.

The new job is ok...I am learning a lot but it is hard working overnights and it is a really busy Surgical/Trauma Floor (I'm a nurse). I will get through it with my eye on the prize of saving money for a house and finally being back with DH come March/April. That is when he is finally done in England and we can finally start our life together.

I hope you are Bill are doing well and can't wait to read more about your plans!

Hey there Tracy! :wave2:

I'm definitely up for a Dis-Meet ~ 'Ohana style!!!

My DNiece, Catie, sounds a lot like Bill... she can put away platefuls of meat and still not gain a pound!! :rolleyes: I'm kind of glad they no longer serve those yummy potatoes because if i don't have those, I can splurge on that awesome bread pudding!!

You mentioned Planet Hollywood on my report... any other ADRs planned??

Kathy

Ooooh... cue the Theme from the Twilight Zone!!!! ;)

It has to be so hard for you two being apart so much, I hope you get to be together soon. March seems like such a long time :hug:. We are doing great!

Hi Kathy! That bread pudding is evil :rotfl2:. I don't know if we will just make that the night Josh and family go off for dinner on their own or I bring them along :eek:. We will have to come up with what day because you can make the ADR's earlier than I can :lmao:. I am not liking this 90 day window at all :sad2:.

I have a list of ADR's ready, they will be in a future installment but not tonight ;).

oh yeah......;)

have to remember that too for the next trip. Thanks Heidi and thanks Tracy for posing the question!

You are welcome.

A person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent to getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive. - Walt Disney

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How did this happen? Seriously, how did I become a “binder person”? I have nothing against binder people, some of my favorite PTR/TR writers are “binder people” - Jordan, Darla, Cherie (Blueyed Girl), and Heidi to name a few, but I just never got into that at all, until the “kids”. Then I had all this stuff I wanted to make
putersmile1.gif
and have with us and the Passporter just wasn’t going to hold all of it.
Yesterday we went to Staples to get ink for the printer and I went to the binder section. I checked prices: over $4.99 for the binder, $5.49 for the tab dividers, and 10 page protectors for $4.99. That would be $16.82 including tax. I thought “that much for a binder and supplies?” Yes, I am that cheap, I said no. Well we ended up at the Dollar Tree to see if they had any Disney related items and I found 16 page protectors for $1 (2 for $2) and the tab dividers for $1, well you know I bought them and a couple of other things
rolleye11.gif
. Then it was time to go to Wal-Mart, I found the binder I wanted for $1.78
thumbsup-1.gif
. My grand total for the binder etc. was $5.20
yay-1.gif
. So I saved $11.62, but spent it in the travel aisle
rotfl2.gif
. Hey it is only 118 days until the trip, I NEEDED that body wash, hand sanitizer, shout wipes, and little first aid kit RIGHT NOW. I always lose it down the travel aisle, I have to have Bill come with me or I would end up with a ton of junk, well more junk then what I bought yesterday.
Here are the few Disney finds and travel stuff:
I had an Eeyore fleece shirt put back for Abbey:
Bill and I also looked through our pins. We have 3 lanyards and some traders, so we thought we would see if the kids wanted to pin trade.
006.jpg
The one on the left is for Hannah, the one in the middle are some of Bill’s traders, and the one on the right is for Christian. Funny thing about the Mickey and Minnie Star Wars ones, we looked through the pin bag and found 3 sets of these, one set KathyRN got Bill at our Dis-Meet, one set Linnie had given Bill at Ip Dip, and we had bought a set and forgot about them. So we thought Christian could have the extra set.
I know I need to get glow sticks/bracelets, but what other stuff do people get the kids?
The binder is not ready to make its debut….yet, but it will be ready shortly because I have used up about half of the new color ink cartridge already
.
Sometimes odd things happen. I was worried about the trip, like I am on a daily basis, money, getting along with Josh, the xMIL not being totally horrible to them when she finds out about the trip etc. I can find a way to worry about anything if given half the chance. Yesterday morning I was running around getting things for Bill before he got up and thought to myself things will work out, we are doing a good thing here just relax. I then went about my morning.
I don’t know if any of you heard about the SouthWest airline sale that was going on yesterday and today or not, but I got an email yesterday morning about it. I was helping Bill get ready for class he was shaving, so I checked my email. Yep, I am computer addicted, I know it you know it, no sense in discussing it. Well I always open up the emails I get from SouthWest but they are never for my cities. I read the title and thought maybe this time.
This next part might be baffling; you might have to read it a couple of times, see why I seem confused a lot of the time:
We currently had all 6 tickets booked down to Orlando from St. Louis and 1 on the way home, we were just waiting for a better rate for the last 5 (they were all $89 each). I thought I would check Nashville’s prices first. We like that airport better, we have a hotel we like to stay in and well I had already booked a queen suite that would hold all of us in Nashville
winking.gif
. We can also park the van there for all 7 nights for no cost. It is the hotel we stayed 2 nights at in June. Besides one of the employees is named “Mickey” and she was a sweetie to us when we had an issue last November. I just wanted to fly out of Nashville and was hoping for a decent rate.
Following me so far? I hope so.
I plugged in our dates and well I almost fainted
10_3_1v1.gif
. The price I was seeing at $60 a flight ($120 round trip per person plus tax). NO WAY
bananamickey.gif
. I get on the phone with SouthWest to cancel the flights we have, Bill has been shaving forever but sees that wild look in my eyes and knows better than to bother me. Very quickly the flights were cancelled and I was back on the computer booking the new flights. I read and re-read to make sure they were right, my heart was beating erratically, I hit the button to book it and got the confirmation number. YAY it was done, but huh why does it say we would leave at 7am and arrive at 8am?? That isn’t right at all, then I look closer, I had made us flying out from Orlando to Nashville on the 4th and returning to Orlando on the 11th
Iamanipdip.png
. I swear I almost started crying but knew I didn’t have time for it. So I got back on the phone to cancel those reservations when the automated voice said something I had never heard before, something about being able to go online and change your reservation, it even talked you through how to do it. I listened and got everything modified. So we got round trip tickets for 6 people for $838.20.
I am so happy, this is a lot less than I had budgeted for it. I am also thankful I noticed my stupidity when I did. Now all we have to do it get their room paid for well that and tickets, but one thing at a time.
Side note: Most people know Bill loves the Disney Pins. Well for his birthday we went to Nashville, but I felt I should get him one more thing. He is big into getting “sets” of pins. I found an entire set on Ebay before our trip, brand new pins, he loved them, they are magnetic and interlocking if you want to do that:
I know it isn’t the best picture, but it is Monorail Purple, the monorail Austin Wuennenberg was tragically killed in. I have been reading about this fantastic man for days. Here is a Video from a family that rode up front with him on the monorail.
There are reports from the NTSB (National Transportation and Safety Board) that say: “it appears Wuennenberg tried to put his train in reverse to avoid the collision.” Reading that just broke my heart. He has been quoted as saying being a Monorail Pilot was his dream job. I guess this is hitting me hard because he reminds me of the many Cast Members that have made our trips so magical. Austin was buried today and I just wanted to remember him here. Bill and I will be wearing the Mickey and Stitch Monorail Purple pins in November.
Next installment… the Binder reveal and a meet in the making
I am so very jealous of your airfare price!!! For round trip from Portland for 4 people it costs us 1097.60!!! And actually that is a pretty good price coming from the west coast... But I am still jealous!!! :snooty:
I was truly shocked at that price and very greatful.
Oh and I am also a "binder person" :laughing: My kids know they are not allowed to touch it... Or have drinks anywhere near it... :eek: DH is pretty sure it causes cancer, you know, since it is radio active and causes nightmares in grown men...:rolleyes1
A friend of mine said I am a nut job for needing a binder to plan a vacation... I told her "once you go binder, you'll never go back..." ;)
Bill and I got into a groove where we knew where we wanted to go, what we wanted to do and I had a wallet/organizer with all our trip stuff. With the kids coming and it being a surprise, I figured I better make something for them to look at and look through.
My nieces are a little older- and while it's not a surprise, they really know very little about WDW and I'm not planning on sharing many details until we get to the airport. So I've been making a booklet to give each of them- with general information about WDW- including lots of things I take for granted, a little about our hotel, our daily itinerary and ADR's as well as the park hrs each day, and a bunch of stuff like word search puzzles and word jumbles at the end. And obviously lots of pictures throughout... still need to scan some maps to include, too, since the girls like maps. (obviously we'll get better maps once we arrive) I figure it will give us something to do at the airport... it's been so much fun working on it, and I'm so excited about taking newbies. And I love reading about all the things you're doing for the kids, cause I'm sure you share the same kinds of feelings I have. :rotfl:
I love your Walt quotes at the beginning of each installment, Tracy. I have several of the printed off and hanging all over the office. :thumbsup2
Great deal on the tickets, but what stress! I would have been a mess. I'm glad you caught your mistake early on and were able to make the changes. Can you imagine if you hadn't???
And thank you for remembering Austin. It is such a tragedy. :sad1:
First, thank you so much for posting this link. What a tragic loss of a young life... Austin sounded like a wonderful kid and a friendly and enthusiastic Cast Member. :angel: How lovely that you and Bill are planning to wear those special pins in his honor.
Second, congrats on the airfare... every bit helps! :thumbsup2
And last, I'm laughing at your conversion to Binder-hood!! :laughing: Yeah, travelling with kids can do that to you!!
Kathy
Welcome to the dark side.......:rotfl:
Love another Binder Groupie!!!! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to meet him or her, it's like a new car.
That is so sweet to pull out some trading pins and lanyards for the kids! Very cool! My 3 older ones did pin trading for the first time on our last trip, and really enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm bummed I didn't take a single picture of it though (duh)
that will be a special treat they can share w/ Bill :goodvibes
Good finds for the trip too!
JUST LOVE Your ticket deals! How very awesome, now if I could just fly for that low of an amount next yr....BONUS!
and thank you for sharing more about the apparently beloved CM Pilot who passed...you are very kind :angel:
I cannot wait to see your binder. I am so like that too but I am also cheap. :laughing: Love all your good buys you got. I love the dollar store for that reason. :)
Tracy you were talking about pin trading for the kiddos. Have you ever been to mousepinsforless.com? I found them before our last trip. We bought the 50 piece grab bag. We picked out the ones we wanted to keep & took the rest to trade. It was great it ended up being something like less than $2 a pin. Plus maybe you could dole them out a few pins a day for trading purposes. I gave each kid about 6 each day that way it would last longer. Just a thought.
Binder :lovestruc Love
My binder is sitting here with me saying fill me up, fill me up!
I surprised you didn't know that you change your ressies online with SW. But now you do so watch out!:thumbsup2 It probably won't happen this trip but if you book airfare and the rate drops, you can re-book it at the lower fare and get a credit to use within like 12 months.
