I've seen in someone's signature a picture with the family all looking down and pointing at Stitch busting through the concrete. My friend was telling me that her family went and had something similar but with Simba. Do they do these all the time or just during high season and busy days? Are they very expensive?

* * * How can I get my family in one? * * *

Throughout all the parks, but especially kinda near the entrances, are roaming Disney photographers who are responsible for taking "PhotoPass" pictures. They may ask you if you want a photo taken, but if it's busy you can go up to them or even stand in an informal line to wait for their services. They take a pic or 2 or 3, then give you a PhotoPass card, which looks kinda like a credit card. Each time you get photos taken by other PhotoPass photographers anywhere in WDW, you can first give them your PhotoPass card. This way, all the shots taken of you throughout your vacation will be linked together.

You can buy none, any, or all of the pics at the photo shop at whatever park you're in later that day, or you can view and order them online up to about a month after you return home.

Some photographers will suggest that you pose in a certain way, such as pointing at an invisible Stitch coming out of the ground, holding an invisible Simba cub in cupped hands, or outstretching your palm for an invisible Tink to stand on. When you see the developed photos or see them online, you'll see that they digitally added the character in the proper place. My wife loved our Simba cub pic at AK and she insisted we buy a print.

We usually forgot to give the photographers our PhotoPass card, and during our week we ended up with 4 different ones, but I entered all the numbers onto the website (at home) and linked all our shots together. During our week we got about 20 photos taken, and I think we bought 5. You can usually find the photographers near the entrances (but not right at the turnstiles) with each park's icon in the background (Cindy Castle, Spaceship Earth, Tree of Life, big stupid Sorcerer Mickey hat), but they also are sprinkled throughout the parks. We got one photo with Goofy dressed as an astronaut outside Mission:Space, and another one at the exit of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

They also sell a CD where you can purchase ALL of the shots taken of you and LEGALLY have them printed yourself, but I don't know any of the details of that.

As for the single print prices, when I bought them last May they were around $12.95 per 5 x 7, I believe. On the website, you can also add cool borders, as well as images to appear in a corner of the photo.

You're not under any obligation to buy ANYTHING, and you pay NOTHING up-front to have the pics taken.

Thanks, Cleverocks! Very helpful info! I'm so excited to get our pics taken with the digital "enhancements." I'm a sucker for any kind of cute picture of my kiddos.

So I've heard about Simba, Stitch, and Tinkerbell added digitally? Any others?

We did Photopass in December 2004 when it was quite new. We have a family shot where DD has her hands cupped and tinker bell appeared when we viewed the pics online! We had absolutely no idea what that was all about when the photographer asked her to do it, but she went along - boy, were we pleasantly surprised! ;)

We had 60+ pics taken and ordered several once we got back home. The shipping time was very fast and the delivery charge was very reasonable. We received our pics within 2 weeks and we live in Scotland! :thumbsup2

The CD wasn't available when we were there last but this time around, we will definately purchase it before we leave! According to the boards here, the cost is $99 dollars and the CM's will add any borders, etc that you would like when you purchase the CD (you also get a copy of the original pic unaltered). With 5x7's at $12.95, we spent in excess of this charge, so I'll gladly pay up! :teeth:

I am a sucker for cute photos of DD, too! :rotfl:
