Disney Picture of the day Part 5

Thanks Jeff and YEKCIM. The two of you get amazing results with some mighty fast glass. Maybe you can help me with a shot I have consistently failed to get -- the audioanimatronic (not the shadow) Yeti in EE -- sans flash. I don't think they make glass that fast.

YEKCIM -- I wasn't as dedicated as you. I wasn't up at dawn! That sure gave you a shadowless shot (since it was taken from the east). I'm supposed to have nabbed the best photo ops at every resort. (Was I glad to hear that the Bonnet Creek Resort isn't Disney!) After ten years and help from 250 fantastic photographers (including many on this board), I'm almost there.

If only you maestros can think of a way to nab that Yeti ...

Wish they'd bend the "no flash photography" rule just this once! Looks like the Yeti Nebula.

Maybe I've just missed it, but I can't recall seeing a really good shot of the yeti; I have not ridden EE, but am guessing that the combination of speed and low light is just too much of an obstacle to overcome. Maybe the wife of me will loan me her D200, which goes to ISO 3200, and I'll give it a try in July.

You know, I can't remember for sure. How embarrassing! I *think* it's the Nemo photo op outside The Living Seas, at Eppacot, but I can't say for certain. Maybe someone else can give it a positive ID.

We've seen her at AK a couple times! On the trail from Asia to Harambe. Closer to Harambe.

Hah- Thanks. But I have had no luck getting the Yeti either. I think the key is to go with your camera set in Yeti mode right from the queue. The few times I have tried I was taking pictures along the ride before hand and then tried to make adjustments before passing the Yeti.

Trying to change the ISO settings while screaming backwards down thru the mountain does not work so well.

That's a great one -- but a flash was used (you can see it reflecting in the Yeti's eyes). Maybe YEKCIM can get a shot at 3200 ISO -- that's one thing I haven't tried. A prime lens would help, too, to get that aperature as wide as possible.

Trying to change the ISO settings while screaming backwards down thru the mountain does not work so well.

And it gave me my first-ever case of motion sickness (looking down at the camera while riding)! I'm not sure I can even ride EE after that.

Exactly where we saw her. She was just going into the woodsy area, so she was on the sidewalk. I got a really good picture of her face.
