Right then, in honor of DizzKneeGeek coming and joining us once again I will post a picture :). I didn't think I had any really good ones but on second thought oh yes I do!

I love this one! Anyone know where I took it?

Looks like Mexico to me!
Also, Dizneygeek, Congratulations on your little mermaid! Glad to hear all is well.

Nice to hear from you again Trashman. Glad to see everything is going well with PF. Keep us posted on the the baby front. :thumbsup2

My POTD

One of my favorite rides. Scares the heck out me at the end of the ride though. It's like my senses go into overload when the T Rex comes out. My family laughs at me everytime. :lmao:

That is really neat. How in the world did you get that picture? Had to be in the Park really early and in that section of the Park.....looked like Toontown, but I could be completely off this a.m.

I like how all the characters are walking togeter....you'd never see them mixed like that any other time (i.e., Cruella and Alice, etc.). Great shot...makes me think of them as CAST MEMBERS vs. characters....got to work, got into character, and all heading out from behind the scences and up to the train....sometimes, I think it must be a lot of fun to be a character.....

Dcanoli, I believe this is what you get to do before riding the train from Toontown to the Main Street station to "drop the rope" so to speak.

I would love to get to do this someday. It looks like a fun thing to do.

If you've never heard of this, everyday, a family is asked if they'd like to open the Magic Kingdom on that day. The family is taken back to Toontown before anyone gets in the park and they get to spend some time with a lot of the characters. After that they get on the train with all the characters including Mickey and Minnie, and they come around to the Main Street Station, where they get off the train and go through the opening ceremonies or the "rope drop" to open the park...

The Mad Hatter helped open the Magic Kingdom on this day...

And moments later enjoyed a ride on his very own Mad Tea Party... he was having a lot of fun that morning!

I just realized there is a group with lime green t-shirts in this shot. Think they're from the DIS? ;)

Probably the Mexico Pavilion.

well thanks, i kid you not.. had it not been raining all morning and all day before, i would have been laying on the ground for a better shot. this is what i do.

My POTD is not an unusual angle but rather a very usual angle. It does have some very nice lighting I think. I apologize for the blur but it was a long exposure without a tripod. I tried to brace myself on the wall but .....

Hey Joe!

Thanks for the information! I am very familiar w/the rope drops at each park (just ask my husband--it drives him CRAZY)! BUT, I love to be there for each and every rope drop!

However, that said--I had no idea where they came from.....I guess I never thought much about it....it only makes sense that's where the train would come from, huh?

I agree, it is a great opportunity, but don't people already in the Park early (i.e., breakfasts, tours, etc.) normally get chosen? My thoughts were that if you weren't in there early for "something," you chances of getting picked were relatively slim (i.e., same thing for waking Tink up).

One more to compensate for the blurred on earlier .... another blurred one! :lmao:

Maybe I'll start a thread of the "Best Blurred Photos of WDW"
