They're loaded down as-is, they don't need the extra burden.

Unless there's a way to store pictures on your DIS account I'm not aware of, the DISforum servers aren't actually loading the pictures. Also, referencing a picture multpile times doesn't mean it's stored on a server multiple times. The DIS servers are just passing the name of the file to your browser, and the actual pictures are download by your computer from the server where they're stored. My pictures, for example, are stored on my cable company's server in my personal web space. Others appear to be using PhotoBucket. The photo download burdeons are on those servers, not the DIS servers.

However, that said, for people on dial-up connections who clean out their cache frequently, I can see that it would cause slower page loading.

Congrats on the marathon. It is my dream to one day do it, I know I could (if I tried REALLY REALLY hard) but...ya know! Very proud of you, and I don't even know you!!

I love the "Empty Park" pictures as well. Here's DD4 (Elayna) chasing birds in January before an early CRT Breakfast! Sometimes I think that it's worth the price of Breakfast just to "sneak" into the Park early!
