Disney Photographer Jailed

LAKE COUNTY - A Clermont man faces charges of possessing child pornography after investigators served a search warrant at his home Tuesday.

According to an arrest affidavit, Charles Hurrey, 29, had three videos depicting children engaging in sex acts. He denied ever sexually abusing a child, the affidavit said.

Walt Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty said Hurrey had been placed on unpaid administrative leave from his photography job at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Hurrey was being held at the Lake County Jail on $15,000 bail.

This just goes to show you that you can't assume someone is safe becuase they were hired by Disney. Disney needs thousands of employees to run the parks, and I'm sure a few slip by the screening process.

Don't assume that your children are safe, just becuase they are at Disney. It's still the real world (ok, more make believe than our usual real world, but still the real world).

Man, between this, and the thefts at the hotel thread, I'm going to quit going to Disney! (not really, but maybe everyone else will quit going, and it will be less crowded for me).

Ok.. this is why these threads can never be read at face value.

If you continue reading the 'theft at hotel' thread over on the Rumors and News Board you find that there was some key information missing from what was posted - specifically the person who used the credit card DID have the permission of one of the two cardholders.

It may be they were friends and the friendship soured.. who knows.. but more to that story for sure.

Anyway.. this thread doesn't seem to contain any hidden story.. but nonetheless it belonds on the Rumors and News board.. I'll be moving it there.

You know who the screenings don't catch? People with no prior arrest record.

Sorry... sometimes I get worked up because every time a Disney CM gets busted for bad behavior someone starts wailing about how Disney should screen the new hires... or how Disney's screening process is faulty. These are usually people who have never once set foot in the Casting building, mind you, and who have no idea what Disney's screening entails... and yeah, it kinda chafes me.

It drives me crazy that people sensationalize this kind of thing! I mean there is not a single person on earth that hasn't at some point had some kind of indiscretion. The man never has, never would hurt anybody but because he was curious as to why someone else ever would he shouldn't be allowed to work at Disney? That makes no sense! Maybe they should start asking potential cast members if they have ever watched a horror movie in their lifetime, because God knows they might have gotten some ideas and do the unthinkable.

Horror movies are legal. Child pornography isn't.
