I got this idea from another thread, but I must admit, I and the few others that have admitted to it can not be the only DPG's out there.:thumbsup2

Definition of a DPG:

Someone who feels Disney is the only vacation destination. (In Orlando anyway).

Someone that never goes off property when he or she visits unless it's to get groceries for their DVC Villa.

Someone that can sing or hum a Disney tune night or day wherever they are.

and lastly

Someone that has decorated their "home"(Not DVC Villa) in Mickey Mouse drapes, plates, soap dishes and shower curtain.

  • 35+ on site visits to WDW
  • Wife has hundreds of Mickey figurines on display in china closets
  • I have an old Mickey watch collection (original watches)
  • We have lots of Disney art (some originals)
  • Have not vacationed anywhere else in years
  • Only time we go off site is when I take a wrong turn (Hate it when that happens)

MG

We don't qualify as DPGs under your definition...but maybe you'd consider broadening the definition, or perhaps create a "second class" group (maybe DpGs cuz we may not be quite as pathetic as the full-blown DPGs?)

We go to Disney 4-5 times/year; we never step foot off Disney property (except one time to get to a drugstore to get an emergency prescription filled)...I've added on 4 times since I first bought in 2006 (you could just say I badly calculated my initial needs, but I think in fact my initial needs simply grew over the subsequent 3 years!)...

We do not "decorate" in Disney...in fact, I'm fairly normal when not at Disney...my pathetic-ness is pretty much the fact that WDW is the ONLY place I'm willing to go for vacation (altho I will, albeit somewhat reluctantly, travel to see family (as in siblings & father) in the Midwest if I can't persuade them to meet me at WDW)...and I'm happy to bring laptop and cell phone so I can work there so I can take more and longer vacations!

So, can I be a "DpG" if not a DPG???

DVC Winners....
Only place we want to go is Disney..
Over 800 pins, our living room looks like Disney North.....
Disney Website
Car and Truck all Disney

Yep, :sad1: Sad, but true... I qualify :yay:

Let's see, we have:
A Mickey duvet cover,
Everyday Mickey dishes in light blue, dark blue and red,
Mickey mugs too numerous to count,
Large ceramic Mickey filled with kitchen utensils
Car license plates the same as my user name with a Mickey icon on the back of my car and climber Mickey attached to a window. And of course, Mickey antenna toppers that change regularly. :)
Saratoga Springs door numbers indicating our multiple bedrooms,
Dark green garage doors with deep red accents against our dark brown cedar house to remind me of the VWL :cloud9:

...and the list continues...giclee print, VWL and SSR prints, multiple DVC canvas bags, pins, ornaments, key chains, clothing including lightweight jackets and gotta love those FREE ball caps

DD is using our points for her honeymoon this October... another generation of DPG's continues...

I am a DpG. I do find it hard to vacation elsewhere. Nothing can compare to Disney. I never want to venture off the property. Sometimes it's hard for me to even go grocery shopping.

Yep... we're very pathetic as well.

Can't remember the last vacation that didn't include the mouse in some capacity.

Only time we go off property is if we're at VB or HHI. We've even started using Garden Grocer!

You name it, someone in this house can sing it. :rolleyes1

Our Disney decorating onslaught is in our study. We have all 4 Haunted Mansion stretching rm posters (54X16 size from a Disneyland Mansion anniversary), large Disney Magic poster signed by Captain Tom, our couch has Alice in Wonderland tea cup pillows from Grand Floridian and various "movie poster pillows". Collage pictures from al our trips and from my old days as a former CM. Snow White desk top items, etc, etc. Don't EVEN ask about Christmas! :santa: Oh... forgot about the garden statues.

I guess I fit the definition!!

Hello my name is Bob and I'm a Mouseaholic and so is DW....:rotfl2:

We never stay off site. When DD's ask if they can go to that other theme place we always come up with an excuse... oh cost way to much and not really worth it..... my DW has a collection of Minnie Mouse stuffies.... we have Disney photomosaic puzzles frames and hanging on all the walls.... so again i say Hello my name is Bob....:rotfl2:

Hello, my name is Lin, this is my DH Andy

And YUP, we too are Disney Pathetic Groupies! :woohoo:

So what's the problem? :confused3

Okay, I feel that some Disney vacation is the only destination -- could be any Disney park.

I definitely don't want to go off property -- not even to the grocery store!

I am a big Disradio fan so no problem with number 3 . . .

My house has a few Disney items but my office definately qualifies -- lamps and pictures.

But, I have to say that I don't care to describe myself as "pathetic" -- I prefer perspicacious. (Perspicacity means shrewdness and applies to people; perspicuity means easily understood and applies to things). And let me tell you it wasn't easy to find a "p" word that worked! :rotfl:

Still, you are a great group of folks not matter what you call yourselves and I am proud to join you. :flower3:

 DPG here too..........

  • Grew up 10 minutes from Disneyland, 100s of visits. Went weekly as a child, usually daily during the summer. pixiedust:
  • First trip to WDW in 9/07, next visit 5/09, bought DVC during 2nd trip :woohoo:
  • Wouldn't dream of going offsite except for groceries and even then I would consider having them delivered.
  • Kids' bathroom all Mickey Mouse; everything from the towel rack to the tp holder to the cabinet pulls to the clock. I am talking the entire bathroom, it's even painted Mickey Pants Red. :teeth:
  • Framed poster of Walt Disney's Pinocchio in our media room.
  • Multiple Disney home accents; vases, throws, antenna balls, little touches all over.
  • Met some now very dear friends on another Disney site.

Very true, I think this ought to incude disney cruise line, right? And is it bad that we are going to Disney fan gathering this year for our 10 year wedding anniversary this summer?
Someone that never goes off property when he or she visits unless it's to get groceries for their DVC Villa. And we have only left for groceries on two occasions.

Amen, here - do not even suggest that other park.
Someone that can sing or hum a Disney tune night or day wherever they are.

Not much of a singer but definitely know a lot of these.
Someone that has decorated their "home"(Not DVC Villa) in Mickey Mouse drapes, plates, soap dishes and shower curtain.

Unfortunately, this is not as true as I would hope because we have not had any money leftover after all the trips. :rotfl: I do however have a fridge full of magnets, a mickey waffle machine, a mickey spoon rest, and pictures from our disney trips hanging in the house.

I'm one.

Have Walt's autograph. Have some animation cels. Don't vacation anywhere in Florida, but WDW. Been buying Wilderness Lodge pins.

I think we definitely qualify as DPG's. We wouldn't (couldn't?) dream of vacationing anywhere else but WDW. We start planning our next trip on the way home from our current one. We sit around and make up trivia games about WDW. We do this last one each and everyday! And both of our adult kids told their future spouses they would not marry them if they weren't Disney obsessed like the rest of us! DDIL was already a Disney addict but DSIL had to grow into it. Both of our DGSs talk "WDW" constantly and bug the daylights out of us asking how many more days until we go back. :lmao:

I'm in! Been going since it opened...good to have grandparents who lived in FL! :cool1: I still have a ticket book with the "E" ticket, cels. No Walt autograph, tho...lucky!

Glad I found this thread---I was just reading the thread about Bonnet Cove (? Bonnet something!) where they were comparing that with DVC..loved the post about how it's better because THEY get free salt and pepper. :goodvibes

Yeah i asked earlier if there was a 12 step program for me.

I would be happy to vacation at WDW all the time. Just bought into DVC so this will get worse!!!:lmao:

Yep can sing multi songs from disney but you don't want to hear me sing them.

Don't like going off the property unless we have to. That is usually when DPIL's are making us sit through other TS presentations. It is their fun!:confused3 Not me!!

My disney in the home is limited to the library where all of my snowglobes and disney stuff are at. I was very disappointed in june at World of disney. Only a few snowglobes there. Went home without one for the first time in FOREVER. Got the antennae toppers and watches and shirts et all.

But the best response for my 12 step inquiry was the best.
"I can stop whenever i want, i just don't want to."

That is my new motto!!

Add me to the list........

I have a Disney room for the kids at my beach place. Only seem to photo album Dis vacations. And out of nowhere, dd and I say, "I wanna go to DisneyWorld" with pathetic eyes.
