Disney Pathetic Groupie's (DPG's) Roll Call

I was hoping that I was going to see a list of people that are worse than I am with my obsession, but after reading your description, I have to admit that

I AM A DISNEY PATHETIC GROUPIE!! :guilty:

Definition of a DPG:

Someone who feels Disney is the only vacation destination. (In Orlando anyway).

Someone that never goes off property when he or she visits unless it's to get groceries for their DVC Villa.

Someone that can sing or hum a Disney tune night or day wherever they are.

and lastly

Someone that has decorated their "home"(Not DVC Villa) in Mickey Mouse drapes, plates, soap dishes and shower curtain.

Alright, I guess I'm a DPG too! I do enjoy other vacations as long as I've had my Disney fix for the year too.

My wife won't let me be a DPG! She calls me a nerd and things like that. HOWEVER, she called me today and said she was looking for a new bed for DS2, and that we should get Mickey sheets :confused3 Maybe she is catching some DPG! (I could only hope)

Now that I am a DVC member, count me in too!

My next trip is not until March 2010 and I am already planning the one after that!!!

I may qualify because I could easily take every vacation at WDW. I do vacation in other places, but I know where my heart is.

I am not yet a Disney Pathetic Groupie. I can stop, walk away, or change my activities of daily living at any time. In fact, the following doesn't qualify me as a DPG, does it?

Adding on 50 points to our Bay Lake contract. . . just 2 weeks after our master contract closed.

Buying into my first DVC property when I am 57 years and 11 months old, and knowing that I'll be 108 years, 6 months old when my BLT contract reverts to Disney.

Having countdown widgets on my Mac to tell me how many days before the 11-month window opens so I can make a reservation.

Spending a LOT of time on these message boards, thinking that if I don't check the threads every few hours I might miss something really, really important.

If I can't use the words "Disney", "DVC", "Home Resort", "Use Year", "Bay Lake", "Point Chart", "Resale", or "ADRs" in a conversation, then I soon lose interest in the conversation.

When my former boss asked me to come out of retirement and said I would receive my full pay and benefits AND keep my full retirement pay, my first thought was "How is that going to affect our trip to Disney World in June?"

No, I'm not a DPG. Never have been, never will be.

Lets see we are probably pretty close to being DPG

Only go away to WDW - We did go to Boston the other week, but it was to attend the DVC show so I don't think that counts against us.

Go there at least 3 times a year. Will be 5 times in 12 months this October and we live 1200 miles away.

Bought our first DVC in November, our second home resort in February and added on in June.

We did leave Disney property once, but we went to Celebration. Again I don't think that counts against us.

Main bathroom in the house has Mickey head floor mat, Mickey head mirror, all Mickey towels, 2 Mickey shelves, Mickey shower curtain, numerous Mickey decorated jars and containers ie: toothbrush holder, Mickey head towel holders, several towel animals and numerous Mickey toiletries collected over the years.

The only pictures on my digital picture frame are from Disney - no exceptions

I have two Disney countdown timers on my computer.

Our luggage is all Mickey

And the list could go on, but I think that is probably enough

Guess you would have add two more here. Didn't really think both of us were BUT last week after my DD lost her phone (while going to a WDW CP meeting:goodvibes), I went to the ATT store to suspend her number. The salesguy says that my DH is due for a new phone. I say he doesn't want to give up his old phone because he's afraid he will lose his custom "pirates song" ringtone as in "yo ho, yo ho, the pirates' life for me". The guy starts to speak and MY phone starts with "When you wish upon a star". He's in hysterics, hey what can I say, we're a Disney family.

A DD at WDW, and I'm drinking out of a old blue mickey cup sitting on a Mickey dish towel while I'm at my computer which just came out of it's Disneyland computer jacket...pixiedust:

Two more DPGs here.

Okay, we honeymooned at Disney (GF) almost 19yrs ago, which started the whole thing, but:

-- our living room is all Disney, we have a Mickey mantle clock, Mickey pictures frames, and Disney park pictures on the wall.

-- we have Mickey plates, cups, etc., in our kitchen

--too many Disney sheets/towels/etc. to count!!

-- we even have our afternoon glass of wine from Mickey wine glasses!

IF we could afford it, we'd do Disney more than once a year. Since we can't, we also frequent a few favorite NE theme parks. We love them, but always find ourselves comparing them to our beloved Disney!

Does anyone else get the Unofficial Guide every year, even though it's virtually the same thing??

Anyone else LOVE the WDW Radio Show podcast?? DH and I listen every week!!

We're definitely DPG'S, but knowing what makes you happy is a wonderful thing!!!!

Haha, so true! I start planning before I check-in:rotfl2:

I think we definitely qualify as DPG's. We wouldn't (couldn't?) dream of vacationing anywhere else but WDW. We start planning our next trip on the way home from our current one. We sit around and make up trivia games about WDW. We do this last one each and everyday! And both of our adult kids told their future spouses they would not marry them if they weren't Disney obsessed like the rest of us! DDIL was already a Disney addict but DSIL had to grow into it. Both of our DGSs talk "WDW" constantly and bug the daylights out of us asking how many more days until we go back.

Count us in! We got started on our Honeymoon and it hasn't stopped since (12 years)! We go to WDW atleast 3 times a year. Love our DVC!

We have several animation gallery cels hanging throughout the house, a bookcase full of Disney souvenirs in a spare bedroom, a shelf full in our bedroom, disney calendar on refridge, magnets and antenna toppers on car, I could go on and on.

If, and I said IF we do go anywhere else, we are always comparing it to Disney and Disney ALWAYS wins!

We hardly ever go off site unless DH gets the bug to drive around looking at developments to move into when we are able to move to FL.

Last trip was May, stayed at Kidnai, I was soooo excited that every day on my way home from work I called DH and sang that we were one more day closer to our Kidani stay. Soon I'll start singing that we'll be one more day closer to our AKV Jambo Concierge stay (September).

Oh yeah, we named our cats Figaro and Baloo.

Hello, my name is Jacki and I am a Disney addict (along with my dh). :rotfl:

Our vacations revolve around Disney. We take 3 - 4 trips a year. We only stay at Disney resorts, sometimes we drive down, and when we do I like going to the outlet malls to shop in the Disney outlet stores (along with Coach). LOL That is the only area I go to while we are there. Majority of our time is spent at the parks (we have annual passes). My home is not decorated in MM, but I have a lot of Disney collectibles (Swarovski (figurines and jewelry), Lenox, snowglobes, and Precious Moments), dishes, toys (I collect toys/stuffed animals) and my Christmas theme is Disney. I love Thomas Kinkade, and one day will own a couple of his Disney oil paintings. We shop at The Disney Store 1 - 2 times a week (a couple weeks ago we were there 6 times in one week, talk about crazy! LOL). We wear a Disney shirt almost every day. LOL

*ETA* I forgot a few...LOL Disney Stock, DVC, AP's, Jim Shore figurines, Pooh & Friends figurines, Bradford Exchange Disney Plates, Jewelry, purses/totes, Arribas Bros (disney figurines, and glassware). I am sure I am missing something....LOL.

I wish I could be considered a DPG, but unfortunately I have a non Disney obsessed fiance. If I could, I would go to WDW multiple times a year and it would be my only vacation destination. I had one year when I went in August, then January, then May. This year we went in May and we're going again in August (only because we had to cut our May trip short) and March (because my fiance is such a great guy and knows how much a Disney honeymoon means to me). But after that, I'll be lucky if I can convince him to go once a year.

I am very Disney obsessed though. If I overhear anyone talking about Disney, I always have to jump into the conversation. Anytime anyone I know wants to go to Disney, they always ask me for tips and advice since they know that I know practically everything about it.

I don't have any Disney related rooms in my house since I still live with my parents so I don't get to decorate LOL. But my cube at work is filled with Disney things. Some of my coworkers kids love visiting my cube just to see all of the Disney stuff.

8) random disney quotes thru day- check

Do not give up hope. My DH was not DPG when we first met. He couldn't understand why and how our family would open DLR and close the park at midnite. Over the years, it has been a slow process, taking our DDs to DLR and going to WDW for business meetings, he has slowly come around. But it wasn't until his firm started doing work for DLR that the transformation took place. He is the one that pulled the trigger on DVC, wanted the pirates ringtone, has pirate stuff all over his office and has a lanyard with pins from the attractions he has worked on. Finally it was complete when I asked him where he wanted to go for our 33rd anniversary...WDW!!!!! It will happen:)
