Disney Parks Moms Panel 2015

I can't imagine that we won't know something by next week. Of course, this just gives me more time to keep going back and reviewing my answers from Round 1. :rotfl: I feel pretty confident about my answers (at least, the most important one -- the sample Moms Panel question), but we shall see . . .

Thank you so much! And so awesome that you got it your first year, Doug! Is the panel something that you only get to do one year?

Lilly,

It is going to be different in all cases. I was active on the panel for 2009, 2010, then off for 2011, then back on for 2012 and 2013. I am off now, and will not be back on in 2014. But even if I never go "active" again, I am still officially on the panel. I cannot stress enough how it has changed my life. I have made lifelong friends, the training trip was one of the most fun weekends of my life, and the fun of answering question on the DMP site is pretty amazing.

But we should all remember that we are our own little panel all on our own. As I sat on the floor at my 8-year old's volleyball practice, with all four park maps spread out, circling the "To-Do" and "To-Don't" attractions for another parent of a child on her team, I realized we are panelists in our own way. And helping out our friends and family is the most impactful panel experience there is!

Oh, and by the way, Gary really is that much fun. I know we all wonder if the 'personalities' that we see on our computer, TV and movie screens are really like they seem, and trust me, he is. He is a blast to be around, and a very giving and generous person. I hope you all get to meet him someday.

If I recall, both last year and the year before, the Round 2 notifications went out on a Friday. I think that's because of the video requirement and applicants having more time to complete something like that over the weekend. I'm pretty sure that prior to 2012, even though the Round 2 notifications went out during a different day of the week, 2012 was the first year that they had the video requirement for Round 2 (I think prior to that it was for Round 3, but I could be mistaken). So, with all of that said, I think we've got a week to go.

I think I remember that we did get R2 notifications on a Friday last year, but we didn't get the questions/video topic until Monday. It was all then due that Thursday, so we actually didn't have any weekend days to complete it. Tough for me because my kid was only in school 3 days a week last year, basically leaving me only Wednesday to shoot and edit my video without a three-year-old climbing all over me! Hoping it does include a weekend this year so DH can help. :)

I think they were going to be over the weekend except for the set of emails that messed up. My kids homeschool so here's hoping I need them to help me video for round two!

Doug, thanks so much for sharing the DPMP insider information and for your thoughtful insight!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, We have an update!! A new tweet from Gary suggests that we will be hearing about the Round 2 on October 17th. That puts us right on track with last year. If things go the same way it looks like we'll have the 20th-23rd to submit and then hear about Round 3 on or around the 14th of November. Excited!!!

Hello Hopefuls!

Just reading through this thread reminds me of all the nerves and excitement I felt this time last year as I anxiously awaited notifications. I just wanted to drop in and sprinkle some Pixie Dust and remind you all to breathe. :goodvibes You are all incredible and it is amazing to see how much Disney passion you all exude. I'll be cheering you on! #NeverGiveUpOnYourDreams

So, either next Wednesday, Thursday or Friday will be the big day.

Thank you to the current and former panelists who have posted on this thread offering your encouragement. :goodvibes

10/10 is my birthday! Hope it brings me some pixie dust!

Although there won't be any pixie dust today, (at least via MP notifications), just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday! pixiedust:

Hi everyone. I'm new. I'm trying for a Disneyland spot. Just saw tweet from Gary that all names will be revealed by end of day the 17th. Also, everyone will be notified, whether they've moved on or not. Pins and needles for another week.

Hello! My 1st post here!! I've been a long time fan and love this site! This is also the 1st year I've applied for the Mom's Panel. Stopped by looking for the update on when finalists would be notified and it looks like October 17th. Like all of you I am on pins and needles. Spreading some pixie dust and hope it is one of us that advances. pixiedust:

How many finalists are selected in R1 & R2? How many spots are there on the 2015 Mom's Panel? Thank you in advance for information :-)

Susie,

The number seems to change every year, so there is no hard-and-fast rule to what those numbers will be.

Thanks!

Doug

Getting so excited!

What are some things you all do to keep busy when you feel excited or anxious? I'd love to hear how everyone brings Disney home when you miss it! And I'd love to get to know everyone on this board a little more!

My husband and I have "Disney Days" with our daughter when we miss it. We go play air hockey (like we used to play at the arcade waiting for our table at Beaches N Cream), go get Churros from Costco, watch a Disney movie, visit the Disney Store & listen to Subsonic Radio all day. I just took a part time job at a fitness club in the kids club. They have bounce houses and one with a slide. I've been going down with my daughter saying, "pretend we are on Splash Mountain!!" Hehe, so silly but so much fun!

(I apologize for typos or spelling, I'm on my phone while hubby is watching football lol)

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to wish all of the MP hopefuls much pixie dust this week! Looks like we will know something in just a few short days! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Hello All
I am new to posting so I hope I do this right!

I have read through a lot of the posts and I just want to wish everyone good luck and may all you wishes come True! It seems like this is the week we will hear about Round 2!

So fingers crossed, sweet dreams and may those dreams come true! And on to Round 2.

You are all truly amazing!
