Disney Parks are getting deserted

I agree--it's probably a "seasonal" slow down as much as anything else.
And Mitros is right.
My feeling is that if gas is "allowed" to get to $4.00 a gallon, there will be an abundance to go around. However, try to "cap" or regulate the price and there probably won't be anywhere near as much gas--they will simply refine something else that carries a better profit.

There will be a temporary gas shortage until the five gulf coast refineries are back on line. The US only has 22 refineries which have a difficult time meeting demand in the best of times. Taking five off-line will create a definite shortage of gas. Right now the oil companies have no desire to battle with the EPA and build new refineries.If an oil company decided today to build a new refinery it would be 20 years before the first gallon was delivered to your local gas station.

We went to AK yesterday afternoon. Oh it was wonderful. Everything was walk on. :banana: :goodvibes
Still hot. But not unGodly hot like it was in August.
Epcot last night was busy for Illuminations. But not horrible either.
aaahhhh :sunny:

Just to add that reports from Transportation Board show no gas problems on I-95, NJ to Florida. Friends of ours in Ft Myers FL and Edisto SC report "near $3.00" prices and no shortages whatsoever. Gas prices in my area now below $3.00 ($2.89 actually) and no shortages whatsoever.
Of course-that could all change.
Would just agree with what DoxaRich said--still think until the oil companies bleieve they can make a handsome profit, they'll not build new refineries, and will manufacture something else other than gasoline.

Don't forget,{and I will not be dragged into a debate over it, because there is no debate board, :goodvibes } that the tree huggin' hippies :3dglasses are the reason there were strict regulations instilled upon the oil refiners halting the building of any new refineries over the last 30 odd years or so, even to replace aging ones. {refineries, not hippies :smooth: }

What is free dining?

Lumpalump,

Free dining was a promotion that Disney had this summer for the end of August until the beginning of October. It gave anyone staying at a WDW resort free dining plans for everyone in their party. But you had to pay rack rate on the room. And you had to book a package including passes. But there are ways around the cost. I booked one park day b/c I have days left on old hoppers and am staying at PC and ASMo during the value season. For Value resorts especially this was a fantastic offer. Unfortunately, the deadline to book has passed.

Check the Resorts forum regularly to see any deals that are out. Maybe they will offer it in a slow season again. Maybe. Good luck.
