Disney Parking & Charges

Can anyone help with some advice please?

Only our 2 dd's doing Disney this time and we know that they can catch the Lynx 50 from Sea World to get to WDW (we're staying off site this time @ Vista Cay.)
If dh & I were to drive them & drop them off to catch Disney buses to the parks they want to visit, would we have to pay for parking or is there somewhere we can do this without encurring charges?

Can we drop them off @ the TTC say? The only reason I ask is that I've seen some posts saying the Lynx service is not great & can take forever to reach WDW.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Drop them off at the WDW Saratoga Springs resort next to DTD - from there, they can catch WDW buses to the theme parks - this is easier/more convenient for you than using the TTC. Just remember there are no WDW buses from DTD bus stops to any of the WDW theme parks.

I've never used Lynx, but as the Orlando-area public bus system, I can't see that it would be "not great" or take "a while" to get around.

The buses run on a schedule and, barring traffic abnormalities, would need to keep to those schedules.

When you pull up to a park's toll plaza, tell the Cast Member you're just dropping off some people. There shouldn't be a charge, but if there is, you can turn around and drop them at Animal Kingdom Lodge for Animal Kingdom, or any of the Epcot-area resorts (BC, YC, BW, Dolphin/Swan), for Epcot or DHS. At the Magic Kingdom toll plaza, keep to the far right. The booth second from the right is for access to the resorts - drop them at the Contemporary.

AKL > AK = bus; all other suggestions = walk; there's also a boat from the Epcot-area resorts to both Epcot and DHS; and there's also the monorail from the Contemporary to MK.

There isn't a charge to drop off and pick up - just tell them you are doing that.

My daughter lives at UCF Rosen across from Vista Cay and I imagine the bus trip is rather lengthy.

Another place you could drop them is the "Hoop De Doo" entrance of Ft. Wilderness. No toll booths to get there, no guard shack to talk to.

Follow the Disney signs to Port Orleans, FQ, then pass POFQ, then when the street dead ends, take a left at the red light. You will pass the golf course on the right, then you will come to the Hoop De Doo entrance on the right.

(DO NOT follow the signs to Fort Wilderness, as that will take you to the Magic Kingdom toll booth.)

There are buses to Epcot, Disney Studios, Animal Kingdom, DTD, Typhoon Lagoon, and Blizzard Beach all right there.

To get to Magic Kingdom, they would need to take a Yellow Settlement bus to the settlement bus stop, then take a boat to the Magic Kingdom.

OR they could take a bus to Epcot, then monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

They are trying to get "to" Disney from off-site and are just hunting for an easy way to drop their daughters off near a bus stop.

Well if I were staying offsite with a car and my children I would drop them off at WDW and not have them depend on an unfamiliar bus system just to save a few bucks in gas money. Disney does not charge for park drop offs.

From the way I read the OPs post, the girls are older, they are repeat guests, so the bus system is not unfamiliar to the girls and the girls will probably be park hopping throughout the day anyway using buses.

Yes, Disney does not charge for dropoffs at the theme parks, and that may be what the OP ends up doing, but why deal with the traffic of a theme park lot or a guard shack at a resort. The Hoop De Doo/Overflow lot at Ft. Wilderness has neither of those and it is easy to get in and get out of.

I would deal with the drop off and guard shack (and those guys/gals are really nice) to save time for the ones going to the actual park...in my opinion why get dropped off close to where you are going and have to take more transportation when you can get dropped off where you are going.

Yeah, I agree with ya on that one (unless the hotel was right next door to the SeaWorld bus stop).

Just to say we certainly aren't dumping the girls on Lynx or trying to save on gas money. We just didn't want to have to pay $12 each time to park.
They are 17 & 14 so should be perfectly capable of coping with travelling on buses but you know what teenagers can be like. Also being from the UK they were just a bit concerned about getting on the correct bus & using external transport systems they're not familiar with.

We didn't know that you could just drop off/pick up from the parks as we've always stayed on site in the past so never had this problem plus this will be the 1st time they've gone to parks on their own.

Now we know that we don't have to pay to park each time we can just drop them off/pick them up & they can use the Disney transport which they are familiar with if they need too.

why should people who pay for saratoga springs with annual dues have to continually put up with all and sundry useing the busess especially people staying offsite

We're going to drop them at the parks so no problem. People were only trying to help with suggestions.
