I can remember reading this on a previous board months ago but can't find it at present. Can someone give me some advice on how to get my wife and son into the Disney parade? I can vaguely remember someone saying you have to see a cast member but can't be sure. :confused3

It is very random, you get picked by the cast members to take part in the parade. I think the CM pick people out when then walk into the park and ask them.

We were lucky enough to be Grand Marshalls at the Magic Kingdom last year but we were chosen we didn't ask.

Kaylee's quite right, it is very random. My DD was chosen to briefly join the parade purely by dint of the fact that we were in the front row watching. The CM just came up and asked as the parade was progressing towards us, so off she trotted :)

There were lots of children that weren't chosen though, so I'm not sure what you can do to improve your chances :confused3

I always thought it was the first guests in the queue that got to ride the parade float!!??

My DD did not ride the parade float, she joined the parade for about 50 yards or so dancing with the characters :)

My DDs got to ride on a float in the parade at MNSSHP. We didn't ask either - we were approached by a CM as we entered Main St. and told to report to a spot near the parade starting point about 30 mins before the parade start time.

We were very fortunate to be selected to be Grand Marshalls for the parade in The Magic Kingdom on our last day of our holiday in February.
As we strolled along main street my DD7 went to trade pins with a cast member. His name was Dean and he asked her how many people were in our party and if we were her parents. After establishing that we were a family of 3 he offered us the chance to be Grand Marshalls for the day.Obviously we were dumbstruck and jumped at the chance.
We had to meet Dean near Splash Mountain where we met the other family who had been selected.
We were escorted to our cars and met the marching band who followed us in the parade.
It was an experience we will never forget and was a fitting conclusion to a magical holiday.
I guess the answer to your question is you just have to be in the right place at the right time.
I have some photos that i have tried to attach without success so if anyone could give me some advice I would be most grateful.

Try this system:

It's free. After you have uploaded a photo to the site you create a link that you can paste into your post on the forum and it will show the picture. I do it all the time on another forum.

Hope this works. This is the photo I took in the Grand Marshall car as we entered Main Street.
