Prologue
The sun slowly made its way below the rugged mesas of the Arizona desert. As the last rays of daylight danced along the clouds it made purple and orange streaks across the sky. Nightfall brought about great changes in the landscape. Sights and sounds intensified as darkness engulfed the area. Objects became just silhouettes basking in the glow of the moon which was just peeking over the horizon. The sky began to become alive as each individual star made its presence known with a twinkling aura. In the midst of this desert landscape, one figure lay on the sun-hardened sand gazing up at the light show that was about to unfold.
Arizona Jeff had made camp just before darkness fell and a small fire kept him warm as he watched night come to life. The sparks from the mesquite wood danced into the sky intermingling with the stars to bring motion to the twinkles. At least Arizona Jeff thought it was the sparks that were moving. Oddly enough though, when the flames began to die down, the stars still appeared to be moving. Jeff rubbed his eyes trying to clear his vision. They were obviously playing tricks on him since the stars usually stayed relatively stationary in the sky. But try as he might to shake this problem he still noticed that one star appeared to be moving and quite rapidly. Furthermore, that star appeared to be getting closer. It was obvious that something was not quite right. The star continued to move towards Jeff almost as if it were following him.
This type of behavior is not normal for a heavenly body and had Arizona Jeff just a little nervous. From his pack he retrieved his binoculars to see if he could determine what was going on. What he saw shocked and amazed him. As he adjusted the focusing ring, he saw it was not a star at all but rather a ship of very curious workmanship. It appeared to have windows surrounding the craft and he could almost make out a shape. The object continued to hurl towards him as he watched in amazement. The shape in the window was getting quite clear and looked fairly familiar. It was…
Arizona Jeff dropped the spyglass, a look of shock and amazement shown across his face, he could not believe his eyes! Just then the unidentified craft whizzed overhead and came to a complete stop not more than 7 feet above the ground. A door opened wide along the bottom of the ship and it appeared as if something was being tossed from inside. Jeff attempted to dive out of the way but was not fast enough. Before he knew what hit him, something or more specifically someone landed flat on his back knocking the wind out of him. Then as quickly as it had come, the object was gone in the night sky. Jeff tried to compose himself and see what it was that had landed on him. The look of shock and horror was still on his face as he uttered five words, “Figgy! Get off of me!”

Before the story goes any further, I want to know if Figgy was dying to get off the ship, or was somebody dying to get her off their ship!!!! This bit of information may or may not be germaine to the rest of the story, of course, but I was just wondering..........

............and of course, then there is the question of why poor Jeff had Figgy dumped on him? Was someone trying to hurt him or do him a favor? These, and many other questions will be answered for us I'm sure, right here on the Dis, as during "the days of our lives, and "as the world turns, when "the young and the restless" realize they have just "one life to live", ...........oops, sorry, different story!

Okay, I'm waiting...............................:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just hangin' here waiting for the next edition....we could call it "As The Cactus Turns"

Whoever writes this stuff is in serious need of some therapy! Either that or they need to go to a baseball game which I guess is the same thing.

Wait, 10 installments in 5 weeks... Is this a story problem? I hate those things. Next thing you know you will be asking us to try and determine when trains leaving Chicago and New York will meet in Pittsburgh and what the name of the bus driver was.

INTRODUCTION

Figgy was one of those people who brought a little life and excitement wherever she went. She slowly climbed off of Jeff and began to dust herself off. She seemed fairly calm and collected considering what had just occurred. Jeff stood there waiting for an explanation but Figgy appeared oblivious to him. When she finally noticed his gaze she simply nonchalantly stated, “What?”
“What do you mean what?” asked Arizona Jeff. “I am hanging out in the desert minding my own business and I see a UFO only to have it swoop down and toss you out on top of me and all you can say is what?”
“Oh that? It was nothing. I needed a ride and those nice boys offered to give me a lift.” Figgy explained as if this sort of thing occurs everyday.
“Would you mind telling me what in the world is going on?” Jeff asked.
“Well like I said, I was on my way to California and traffic was bad going to the airport so I asked the cab driver if he knew of any alternative routes to get to Disneyland and he took me to this deserted airfield where we were met by the nicest guys who were in dire need of a tanning coupon since they seemed rather pale. So I got on their plane and we headed towards California. Well the trip seemed like a great time to talk to these guys and let them know about PinPics and see if they had any pins that they could enter into the database because you know that we are trying to catalog the entire planet. So we got to talking and then they were telling me they had never been to Disneyland so I told them they should go because it is a lot of fun and you meet the most interesting people so then we started talking about…” Figgy explained.
After 20 minutes of listening to Figgy tell her story, Arizona Jeff just stood there with his mouth open not exactly knowing what to say and not really having an opportunity to say anything if he did have something to add. But in the midst of this story, Figgy suddenly became very agitated and yelled, “Hey wait a minute, those guys took my luggage! I had some cool pins and plush toys I was taking to California and those guys ripped me off! Jeff, you gotta help me. I really need to get that luggage back! Can you help me?”
Arizona Jeff stood there trying to comprehend all he had just heard. Here was a woman abducted by aliens and all she can think about is getting her luggage back. How could anyone turn down an adventure like that? Arizona gathered up his things, put his backpack together and began walking towards the west, a small boisterous woman in tow still talking at what appeared to be the speed of sound. This is an adventure no one is going to want to miss as Figgy tries to retrieve her luggage and Escape to Planet D.

This is great!!! Were off to Disneyland!!! I knew Id get there one day!!! :p:p:p

Chapter 1 – Soarin’ Over California

Arizona Jeff had come to the conclusion that after Figgy had boarded the spacecraft, she had made contact with an alien race which was far superior to our own. They had come to this planet from a far away place. They were searching for new technology that would help their dying planet. After Figgy had provided them with countless details surrounding Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure, the alien had come to the conclusion that this area could potentially be the key to unlocking the magic of Earth and give new life to a dying alien race.

Not wanting to harm Figgy, they dropped her off before continuing their journey to find the magic hidden within the confines of Anaheim. The one thing they did not anticipate was that they would forget to toss Figgy’s luggage at the same time they tossed her. Further, they could not have expected that she would come looking for her luggage and she would not be alone. Instead, she would have countless other members of the fraternal order of Disney Pals, those loyal followers of the magic of the mouse.

As Figgy and her clan arrived at the Disney property, it did not take them long to figure out that they were not alone. Parked in the Minnie Mouse section of the parking garage was what looked like a space craft trying to be disguised as a minivan. The dead give away were the bumper stickers on the back. The first one stated, “My child is an honor alien at Pluto Elementary School” while the other one proclaimed, “You can take my ray gun when you pry it from my cold autopsied three fingers”. This coupled with the fact that the ship was parked in parking garage area 51 led the Disney Pals to believe they were on the right track.

Since they figured aliens were probably not familiar with California they decided that the first place they would probably go would be to get a bird’s eye view of the state. That could mean only one thing, Soarin’ Over California. Join Figgy and the other members of the Disney Pals as they attempt to find Figgy’s luggage and her alien abductors at Soarin’ Over California on Friday May 2nd at 9:45 AM for a 10AM ride.

Chapter 2

Figgy’s idea of searching Soarin’ Over California had paid off. Soon after taking flight, she spotted a little green man who she quickly identified as the one who had her luggage. She began maneuvering towards where he sat in hopes of nabbing the culprit. But one miscalculated step left her dangling from the bottom of a hang glider while her alien nemesis made his way to the exit. With Figgy in hot pursuit, the alien rushed to Disneyland hoping to escape from the crazy earthling. In the crowds of Main Street, Figgy lost track of the alien. Frustrated, she sat on the curb trying to decide what her next move would be. The Disney Pals soon joined her and tried to boost her spirits with Mickey Bars and tales of adventure from far off places. Figgy was not interested though; all she could think about was her luggage. But where would an alien hide at Disneyland? Just as she was deep in thought, a Japanese family happened by asking for directions and taking pictures. They were looking for their hero, Buzz Lightyear.
“That’s it!” Figgy exclaimed. “Where else would an alien hide?”
With that she jumped to her feet and motioned to the Disney Pals to follow her. They rushed towards Tomorrowland. In all the excitement, the little Japanese family were caught up in the crowd and rushed along. They didn’t seem to mind though, they were all smiles and continued to take pictures and ask characters for their autographs. Join Figgy and the rest of the Disney Pals in Disneyland at the Calling All Space Scouts… A Buzz Lightyear Adventure as they continue their search for the alien adventurer. Since the show will be filled with little green men, it may be difficult to ascertain who the real alien is. Since everyone knows that only a true alien will do the chicken dance, it is up to the Disney Pals to get as many little green men as possible to do the chicken dance either before or after the Buzz Lightyear show. The adventure begins on May 2nd at 12:15 for a 12:30 show. Be there with your dancing shoes on.

Chapter 3 – Grizzly Run

Figgy and the Disney Pals had gotten so close. The courtyard at Tomorrowland was filled with little green men and the Disney Pals did their best to get all of them to do the chicken dance. In the midst of this chaos, the alien intruder was spotted by Figgy and quickly made his exit rushing for the main gate. Figgy caught a glimpse of the being and began flapping her chicken dance wings calling to the other Disney Pals to polka behind her. Of course the Japanese tourists thought this was all part of the game and went along with them. To this menagerie was added a family from Wisconsin who had no choice but to join this merry band. After all, no one from Wisconsin can pass up a polka! So Figgy, the Disney Pals, the camera-toting Japanese tourists and now a family from Wisconsin were rushing to Main Street. As they made their way towards the train station, the young Wisconsin boy wearing a slice of cheese for a hat said, “Hey, this is like that Escape to Witch Mountain movie!”

The entire party stopped immediately and looked at the boy. Of course! The alien would be looking for a mountain, but where? Just then they heard screams coming Disney’s California Adventure. Everyone looked up and shining in the California sun was Grizzly River Run. Everyone began rushing to the gates to make their way to the mountain caverns. Along the pathway, one cast member was foolish enough to grab Figgy to make sure she was at least 42 inches tall. That was the last mistake that man made that day as Figgy flung him like a clearance doll at the Disney Store. There was no time to lose if they hoped to catch the alien and retrieve Figgy’s luggage. Join the Disney Pals as they make their way to Grizzly River Run and see if the motto “the wetter the better” holds true. They will begin their alien search on May 2nd at 2:45 for 3:00 ride and be sure to bring a towel.

Chapter 4 -- Scavenger Hunt

Figgy and friends boarded their raft to begin their search for the alien. Besides the Disney Pals, the boat contained one other person. He was dressed in flannel and had a beard that hung to the middle of his barrel chest. He was a burly character who was big as the Montana sky. As he entered the raft, the boat began to lean towards the side he was sitting. In order to counteract the balance, the Disney Pals all scrunched to the other side of the boat to make it level. As the raft began its journey, everyone was on the lookout for the alien. At the first rapid, they realized that having Grizzly Adams on the boat with them could mean only one thing, water log. Water rushed over the side making the Wisconsin boy’s cheese droop and the Japanese tourists to begin muttering under their breath about waterproofing cameras. Figgy though was undeterred and spotted the Alien as he reached the summit of the mountain. She yelled “I want my luggage!” at the top of her lungs startling the alien and making a little girl from Paris begin to weep uncontrollably. The alien jumped from the raft and began running towards Disneyland.
Figgy and the Disney Pals were at a loss, they had no idea what to expect next but as they sat soaked and confused, the answer fell right into their laps. A piece of paper had escaped from the alien and on it were a list of artifacts he was trying to gather. This was a valuable clue. Figgy organized the troops and began their march to Main Street. The best way for them to catch this alien was to do what he was doing and gather together items and see where it led them. Join Figgy, the Disney Pals, the Japanese tourists, the cheese boy from Wisconsin, and Grizzly Adams on the most “out of this world” scavenger hunt you have ever seen. Meet Figgy at the Partners Statue at 9:45 for a 10:15 start on May 3rd. This is one search you won’t want to miss.

Chapter 5

During their scavenger hunt, Figgy and her band of renowned uncovered many strange and unusual artifacts that helped them with their alien encounter. Some artifacts were more helpful than others. For example, no one quite understood the meaning of why the alien would need a paper towel from the men’s bathroom in Frontierland, especially not the middle-aged German man who came running out of said restroom with toilet paper still stuck to his shoe after Figgy and determined that for the safety of the earth she needed to go in herself and retrieve the towel.

One thing was certain, the alien was obviously trying to find some help and Figgy knew just where he was headed. She grabbed the other Disney Pals, the Japanese tourists, the boy with the cheese hat from Wisconsin, Grizzly Adams who now sloshed when he walked, and the traumatized German man with toilet paper sneakers and herded everyone to Disneyland. They were on a dead run and were running out of energy.

Where better to get recharged than Star Tours sponsored by Energizer. Join Figgy and all of her friends as they look for the alien in Tomorrowland at Star Tours. In order to show their excitement, the Disney Pals have been requested to do the wave when the Death Star is destroyed. This is an adventure you are not going to want to miss. Figgy will be at Star Tours on May 3rd at 2:00 PM for 2:15 ride. See you there!

Chapter 6 – Matterhorn Bobsleds

The sight of grown adults by clueless androids was more than some people could handle. by clueless androids was more than some people could handle. An elderly Indian woman began chanting, “Gandhi! Gandhi!” and whistling for a popcorn vendor. No one quite knew what to think of that. The alien though was quite frustrated at being pursued so relentlessly and rushed to the exit looking to escape. The thought of Witch Mountain were still fresh on his mind and he knew if he were going to contact home then he needed to find a mountain, but where. As he walked into the crowds of Tomorrowland, he heard a roar and screaming humans. He looked towards Fantasyland and there stood a snow capped mountain. He immediately made his way to the Matterhorn where he stood in line for a bobsled run. It was obvious that FastPass was a term foreign to anyone not from this planet. So he stood patiently waiting. How could he have known that Figgy, the Disney Pals, the Japanese tourists, the cheese boy from Wisconsin, water logged Grizzly Adams, the freaked out German guy and the Hindu cheerleader were all standing in the opposite line at the Matterhorn. Imagine everyone’s surprise when they reached the front to be standing toe-to-toe with each other. Figgy began to yell about her luggage and the alien jumped onto the waiting bobsled. Figgy and friends jumped on the opposite bobsled and both parties made their way to the top. There they began a high-speed race down the mountain side. The abominable snowman roared and Figgy yelled to the alien that she wanted her bag back. Lost in all the commotion was a young girl who happened to be placed on the bobsled with the Disney Pals. She held a churro tightly in her hand unsure what was unfolding in front of her. As the snowman growled, she screamed throwing her churro high in the air. The wind and gravity caught the delicious treat implanting it firmly in Grizzly Adams’ beard. All the time, Figgy coaxed her friends to crouch down to gain a wind resistance advantage ove
alien so they could finish first and nab the visitor at the bottom.

It was a great plan but everyone knows that a churro in a beard has a horrible drag co-efficient. Figgy is going to need everyone’s help. Join her at the Matterhorn bobsleds on May 3rd at 3:00 for 3:15 ride to see if you can catch the alien as he finishes the bobsled race. And if you have scissors, bring them. Grizzly Adams is going to need them.

Chapter 7 -- SPLASH MOUNTAIN

The alien jumped from the bobsled and vanished into the crowd. Figgy, the Disney Pals, the Japanese tourists, cheese boy from Wisconsin, water logged Grizzly Adams, the German freak, the Hindu cheerleader, and churro girl all his way home. As they paused to ponder this dilemma, a teenaged boy from Africa walked by with a dazed look on his face. It was clear that he had just witnessed something extraordinary. Figgy stopped the boy to ask him what had happened.

“It was the most incredible thing I have ever seen. I was standing in line at Splash Mountain when a man with three fingers on each hand and green skin walked to the front of the FastPass line to gain entrance. The cast member denied him access since he did not have a valid ticket. The green man became outraged and turned the cast member into what appeared to be a six-foot stick of beef jerky.”
Figgy and friends looked at each other and jumped up rushing to Splash Mountain. As they arrived, there was an aroma of dried smoked meat. Figgy began calling everyone she knew to meet her at Splash Mountain on May 3rd at 5:00 as she may have finally cornered the alien. She meant him no harm, all she wanted was her luggage back, and a souvenir pin to commemorate her trip. Be sure to try and get a fast pass for this time if you can.

CONCLUSION

Everyone gathered around Splash Mountain and began to make the trek through the rock caves at the base of this hill. Along the way they heard the story of Brer Rabbit and all the Brer Buddies. The Disney Pals listened intently to the story and began wondering. Maybe they were wrong, maybe this alien was just searching for his “happy place”. Figgy though had her mind set that this alien had to pay. No one messes with Texas not to mention not touching her unmentionables. So the Figgy gang made their way through the hole in the wall and came upon the loading dock. Log boats filled with very wet people arrived at that time. Figgy helped pull people out of the boats and her gang all piled in. The ride started simply enough as the Brer story unfolded. Figgy looked at the log ahead and spotted her green nemesis. She leapt from log to log reaching the alien in three steps. She stood over him demanding, “Where’s my luggage?!?” The alien cowered below her half water logged and afraid for his life. Just then, the log they were riding on reached the pinnacle of Splash Mountain. Brer Rabbit proclaimed, “Whatever you do don’t throw me in the briar patch!” Figgy was thrown from the log landing upside down in the log behind her. A bright light began to show up in the midst of the briar patch and as the alien reached this light, there was a burst of energy and he vanished. There are many rumors as to what happened. Some say it was a dream, others claim it was a rip in the time space continuum. But those that were there claim this was the first documented case of contact from a faraway planet. One where hope springs eternal and where luggage is more cherished than gold. Although she never saw her bags again, Figgy was a much different person than before she began this adventure. And she learned a very valuable lesson, when you accept rides from strangers, never check your luggage.
